I took these pictures while on a bivouac hunt for muledeer. I am stuck in my office today thinking of the high country in late August. I know it's only January but, who else has cabin fever?

Beautiful! From one native Utah'n to another....
Have you done any extended season hunting at all?
Todd
That what i call roughing it.
I hunted in Utah last August around the La Sal area. I am thinking about the experience and really want to do a backpack bowhunt to Utah. Can I PM you about some different areas to hunt.
Jeff
Nothing quite like the mountains! Beautiful!
Cabin fever?...You better believe it!

Dude your killen me!!!! I hate liven in Jersey
WOW thats beautiful country. :notworthy:
.........and im surrounded by cornfields :(
Beautiful country. Are tags available over the counter or are they draw for out of state hunters?
Depends on Species, Elk tags are available over the counter for specific areas Mule Deer are draw state wide. Moose you got a better chance of winnin' the power ball lottery.
Sheep, Goat, take a few years to draw (10)maybe, some get lucky and draw with less.
Check out the Colorado Division of Wildlife web site.

Ya buddy, Im feeling the cabin fever somethin fierce!!! Great pics!!
I lived in Vernal for 10 years and really miss some of that country!!
Come on September!!
I thought my pictures were cool until the Colorado ones came up. My dad hunts it quite a bit with his mules in the back country but I haven't had the chance. Spring can't come soon enough, I am sick of being snowed in.
That is some awesome stuff. Lets go to the backcountry.
Cabin fever? are you implieing that you can get over it or that there is a time when I won't have it?
Nice pics, my favorite kinda country!

I thought this thread would help me but... It's making it worse. Great pictures though.
Cabin Fever? Is that what it's called when you spend the entire morning searching all the draw odds, harvest reports, looking at Google Earth, downloading maps, etc, etc? I thought I was the only one....

You definitely should. It might ruin you, though. You might be affected like so many others -- nothing else will ever compare to the big mountains. It's a feast for the eyes and nourishment for the soul.

Good lord what landskape ! One must be thrilled just walking in those mountains yet to hunt there...you luky dudes!
Beutiful stuff thats for sure. But I will stick with my swamp spruce forests. Don't seem quite so steep.
But Justin you live so close now!! You'll change your mind the first time you lose your boot in the swamp that those spruce grow in. LOL!

I've never hunted out west, but I've been to Montana a few times. It definately gets in your blood and it won't come out either. One day.... You guys keep sending them. I'm already green with envy. Might as well make it really rough on me. Thanks guys
You guys are making me homesick for a place I've never been!
Thanks for the tour!
Thanks, Conner. I didn't get cabin fever 'til I got back from my high country elk hunt in late September.
