Received this as a Christmas gift and just finished my first reading tonight. If you hunt whitetail and haven't yet read this, it ought to be on your list. In addition to all of the great info, I like that Wensel humor that shines through the whole book.
The bit about 'tweetie bird hunting' and assigning buck equivalent values to the different birds cracked me up. The timing was perfect for me - watched a hawk bag a nice ten point blue jay this morning. Here's where 'field dressing' occurred.

I agree and I think every Wensel book should be required reading! I got Gene's new book for Christmas and I am almost finished with it. Barry's boook is on backorder and should be here early next week and I am really looking forward to it. Mike
Come November is a must have book for any bowhunter.
I read it at least once a year. Funny story though, I bought that book at Cloverdale several years ago. My good friend Monte Dunnaway introduced me to Gene and I asked him to autograph the book. He opened it up and it was already autographed. He said, " what else do you want me to put in it?" I tried to play it off and asked him to put "to Ethan" in it, but I felt pretty dumb! Glad Gene's a good sport!
I got it for Christmas also. I tried to drag it out for a while, but ended up finishing it New Years eve. The story about Barry's bed cracked me up.
I was surprised to see it was autographed as well, and even more so to see the date. (November 09 - the time it was ordered). I sorta thought he would just sign them all at once I guess.
Hehe - the bed thing was good.

A good read,enjoyed it.
It is an excellent way to spend a cold evening in front of the fireplace.
definitly a good read well worth the time
Come November is a huge source of whitetail wisdom and hunting. I have reread it many times. :goldtooth:
Recently bought "Come November" as I have worn out my copies of the first two books and this one is an update of both. Well worth the price of admission, except gene's take on hunting leases is a real "ouch".
