Well, I am a newbie here and have had some great help here.
If anyone had seen some of my threads here, you'll know that my 17 year old and myself have started our trad. journey about 1 week ago.
Well, I had stated in the prev. threads that my 15 year old said he wanted NOTHING to do with a recurve.
Well, THINGS HAVE CHANGED - LOL! Yesterday, he saw me shooting and said, "Dad those Samick's still on sale?" Unfortunately I told him no, and unfortunately - HE'S A LEFTY - LOL.
He is now going to try to save some money up for a LH bow as he spent his money on his girlfriend for Xmas. His words to me:
"Dad, that really looks like a lot of fun."
I'm crossing my fingers that he'll save up some money to join trad. hunting with us.
Happy New Year!
Tim
It's worse than the flu bug. In the past 2 months, I've had 2 friends that swore they would never have anything to do with it, show a good bit of interest in it.
Sometimes a little fever can be fun!
Thats the way a good drug is you try it and the first thing you know you are addicted only this is a good addiction the more the merryer. Widow
Thanks. Ya, I look forward to when he gets his hands on the bow and realizes just how much fun and a challenge it is.
Tim
Addicting isn't the word for it. It will drive you crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!! :scared:
There's something about traditional archery. Since taking it up 3 years ago I find myself enjoying the hunts more. The kills have gone down, way down, to none with a bow since I started traditional archery. That was expected, but I love every minute i'm in the woods with my longbow and don't see myself going back to a compound. Hopefully your son will come to the other side and be addicted like we all have been.
I remember how COOL it was when I first shot a compound 6 yrs ago, all that speed and technology. Then I remember how much FUN it was when I shot my first longbow about 3yrs ago, that wonderful simplicity,- Steve

Jake,
Unfortunately I am mechanically illiterate. Maybe my wife could make them for me - lol. Now, don't get "woodies" confused with "woodies." - hehe
