On average and not counting tip weight does any one know how much weight is added to a raw cedar shaft when it is painted(1 coat approx. 12 inches on nock end),crested, fletched, stained over the rest of the length of the arrow(full length shaft, stain will start where paint ends and run to tip)and sealed with 2 coats of polyurethane?A ball-park figure within 30 grains would be great if anyone has been that observant.I hope this isn't too confusing of a question. Thanks in advance to anyone who answers
Several variables there but I normally figure around 40 grains for stain, nock, 3-5 inch feathers and clear poly finish.
I agree with tater -- 40-50 grains. Feathers are about 5 grains each, as is a plastic nock. One dip full length of fletch lac is about 10 grains. Stain would likely be the same or less. Add it up.
75 gr. with 3 5" feathers and nock, two crown dips and three shaft dips.

Thanks guys when I get an accurate number from what I'm going to do before and after I'll post it just wanted to know out of curiosity about where to start.
