Title: KwykStyk vs Kajikastyk
Post by: owlbait on December 31, 2009, 05:16:00 PM
Any thoughts on similarities? Performance, quietness, cost, finish, availbility, etc? Anyone shoot both of them? How close are they in design? Thanks. owlbait

I have only shot the Kajikastyk.  Very nice shooter.  Fit and finish on JD's bows is top quality.  Cost is reasonable and the wait is not that long.

I agree with xtrema312, JD makes a fine bow.  I don't think you can go wrong with any of JD's bows.

Thanks Gordon. Have you shot a Kajikastyk? What do you notice when you look at pics of them that first catches your eye? How did you decide on a KWIK STYK?

I've had my new kwyk styk 2 weeks.  56" static tips.  Best shooting bow i've EVER shot.  Period.

owlbait   No I have not shot a KajikaStyk ,, What I like over many other Recurves is a Kwyk Styk is smooth Drawing Fast and shoots where you look no hand shock and quiet ,, Jack makes some of the best looking and shooting Bows I have ever seen true works of art , with whatever wood combos you can dream up.How I decided on a Kwyk Styk? is that I allready owned a couple of Kempf Bows and they were so nice shot so good that I had to have one ,, also Jack is a local Bowyer and could go to his shop and get to have him custom fit my bows for me, you will not be sorry for owning a Jack Kempf Bow a True master Craftsman Built one at a time by one the nicest people you will ever get to know ,ask anyone that ownes a Kwyk Styk and see if they will sell or trade there Bows (I bet they wont)    :wavey:

The Kajikastik is smooth but I doubt it's the same as the Kwyk Styk with it's static tips. I'm guessing there will be less finger pinch at the same length with the static tips on the Kwyk Styk.

Nobody seems to want to sell their Kwyk Styk. That says something about them. I've been thinking about getting one. I'll admit I just can't wait about a year for a bow to be built. On the other hand, I won't find a used one in that time. Just can't get myself to order one.

Kwyk Styk's are awesome shooters, very quick, quiet and easy on the eyes. Never shot the other, no need after shooting Jacks bows! Shawn

no need to shoot anything else after you shoot a whisperstik. shoot a 56" and lets talk about finger pinch..or lack thereof.

Someone send me a Kajikastyk and  I'll compare it against my two Kwyk Styks.  I have shot a bunch of bows but finally settled on Kempfs Kwyk Styk with Static Tips.  All the qualities I want in a bow and Jack is top notch.  My two Styks will never be sold while I'm alive.

Aggie, where did you shoot a KwykStyk so you could decide? I know we all like certain things about bows. I've shot bows that I thought were awesome and my buddy would shake his head and say"Not for me". Does anyone think the Kajikastyk is similar enough to shoot to get a feel for this style bow to decide if the KwykStyk would be a bow to consider. I respect all the opinions stated but... I need to have a feel for what I might or might not be ordering. Thanks all.

Yes, owl everyone has their own preferences and it is wise to try first. Jack is personal friends with a retired game warden from the county where I grew up hunting and I am also friends with the same warden and he turned me onto jacks bows.  I wound up owning several bows designed similar to his kwyk styk like the widow psa and chekmate firebird both nice bows. I was lucky enough to find a used ks and bought it.  Loved it so much I sold it to have jack custom make me one to my exact preferences then ended up having himmake me another one.  I am sure the kajikstyk is a fine bow but I know that the ks is a great bow.  Quiet, qwyk, buttery smooth,
And quiet.  Jack makes them one at time and I really like the uniqueness about each bow.

Thanks aggie. So, since I don't have a KwykStyk to shoot, would the design of the Kajikastyk be similar enough for me to get a good feel of what Jack's bow would be like? I'm just going on the pics I've seen, the design seems similar, and I understand there is a difference in design and bowyer. Would you say Widow PSA is somehow similar also?I can shoot one of those at K-ZOO maybe.

Owl, headed to the stand and typing on the phone is wearing me out.  I'll post more later this evening.  Maybe we can work out a way for you to try one.
