Ok if you could use one broadhead the rest of your life what would it be.
Da.... Snuffer
I've used Zwickey for 35 years.
Tried others but always go beck to Zwickey.
Since they quit making Bears, then I would opt for Zwickey also. I don't think I have to worry so much though.
The one I could sharpen the best. That doesn't limit me to one though. I've never had much trouble getting them sharp.
Snuffers are good so are Woodsman. It's hard to argue with WhiteOaks' choice though. If I had to choose one that would work for any game on the planet, I guess it would have to be a Zwickey Delta two blade.
VPA Terminator.
Solid machined three blade, about all that I need to say.
I've been using Zwickey broadheads for awhile now. The last to years I've used the NO Mercy broadheads and like them just fine. Hard to sharpen but very solid. I had a picture of one that I shot a concrete block with. After a little file work that broadhead has take two deer for me this year.
Zwickey Eskimos for over twenty years...
Bear Razorheads with 125 grain adapters.
I like the new STOS two blades that have the tanto tip. The 3:1 shape is great....but then the Abowyer Brown Bears have the same dimensions and are built like a Mac truck! Hard to say.
magnus 2 blade 125 grain.
Grizzley 190 El Grandes
Zwickey. Currently using the No Mercy head.
Snuffer or Magnus 2 blade...
Grizzley 190 El Grandes
Woodsman Elite or VPA Terminator, however you look at it...
Zwickey eskimo. Plenty strong, easy to sharpen razor sharp, and is the right weight for my setup. I like the woodsman fine, but I am confident that at 45 lb draw at 28 inches, the Zwicky will outpenetrate. At 50-55 lb I have complete confidence in either head.
zwickey - deltas.
I really think your ability to sharpen a broadhead is the most important matter. If you don't keep them sharp; they will not work as they were designed to. You should never shoot a dull broadhead; and that means if you shoot it once- or let it sit in your quiver. It does not mean get it sharp and shoot it into foam- then you need to sharpen it again- so get a head your good at sharpening and shooting; and go with it.
160 gr. Magnus I
Good point Brian. No pun intended.
Magnus I 4-blade.
Sounds like the Zwickey is the front runner with the Snuffer, Woodsman, Magnus, and Grizzly are in a close second.
Eclipse 145's
I've been shooting Ace Standards since 2004 and can't think of any game animal that I wouldn't hunt with them. Squirrels, rabbits, grouse, turkey, deer, elk, moose...no problem. Aside from Ace, Zwickeys would be a very close second.
250 grain VPA Terminators.
If I have to choose only one I go with the Zwikey because they are the one that I am able to sharpen better, anyway most of the broadheads with fixed blades make the job done well, this is the reason of so many different names.
An EL ZWIZLEY II! :biglaugh:
Bear green razorheads, have about 20, got more coming from the other day, should end up with 50. Killed two deer with them this year. Accumulated them from yards sales etc.
Ribtek 160
Grizzly 190 El Grande.
Magnus 160gr Journeyman
While I am definitely a SNUFFER guy, which is also my handle, I do like the Black Diamond Delta 4 Blade. That head have never failed me. It use to be that if I was relegated to use one broadhead for the rest of my life, it was always with out a doubt the Zwickey Black Diamond Delta 4 Blade, but I have been using the 220 Grain Muzzy Phantom 4 Blade for the past couple of years with great results and so now it would be a toss up between those 2, but if push come to shove, I would probably still go with the Zwickey Delta 4 Blade.
Tony Sanders/aka"SNUFFER"
Grizzly el grande.
Grizzly el grande 200
Right now I'm stuck. I just bought a kme sharpner and I'm trying to figure out how 2 use it. I really like the Magnus 2 blade. but I would really like to use some of the old bear greenies. I just need to learn how to sharpen.
Magnus 1
I love the green Bear Razerheads. Very easy to sharpen and touch up.
Wensel Woodsmen for me. Been shooting them since they first came out.
Killed many a deer with these heads. Always good blood trials and penetration.
chris <><
150 gr. Magnus Stinger 2 blade.
Gotta box full of old Snuffer 160's that will outlast me. Didn't know they made any other heads..... ;)
R
Snuffers! Been using them since 1976 !! They Have never failed me1
Simmons Interceptors!
first choice woodsman elite, non vented, second choice grizzly. rather have the woodsman for the big hole it cuts!! :archer:
Razorcaps. Easy to change weights, Easy to sharpen, Stay sharp, Fly great, Rust resistant
A Zwickey Delta, or a big Magnus two edge.
They both love to get sharp, and punch big holes in game hide.
If I could get a Snuffer as sharp as these two I might have a new favorite.
One broadhead for everything I'd like to hunt, big to small, for the rest of my life?...Grizzly El Grande 190. Couldn't see myself using anything else for buffalo, moose, and the like.
Matt
Bear Razorheads or Zwickey Eskimos.
Zwickey since 92.
Magnus 2 blade 125 grain for me also. You can get them shaving sharp easy with a file.
Simmons
Zwickey Delta :archer:
Zwickey Eskimos. I like the TreeSharks, too.
Bear razorheads or magnus 2 blade 125 grain.
Zwickeys eskimo 2 blades
Green Bear Razorheads. Got enough to last me the rest of my life - especially at the rate I've actually shot at something the last couple of years.
Jerry
If it had to be one -- I would take Snuffers.
The Grizzly is catching up to the zwickeys! Keep it coming it's very interesting the popularity of certain heads
Zwickey
im going to be going with abowyer heads this year
Old trocar tip Muzzy 145gr.

Ditto!
RAGE!Because I wannabe like ?
Any of the name brand heads available today are fine.
Zwickey, Magnus, Bear, Grizzly, and others are all names have been talked about for years.
There are a few new comers that WILL be talked about for years to come as well.
We all have different views, tastes and abilities. As always, pick one that you can shoot and sharpen and stick (pun intended) with it.
ChuckC
Shoot, I can't choose just one!
Overbo, But I thought you always wanted to be like Oreo Joe! :biglaugh:
Bill
From whitetail to moose, the 145 grain Eclipse has served me well over the years
I shoot the Eskimo's and German Kinetics!
Eskimo's are easy to sharpen and cheap, while the Silver flames are at the opposite end of the scale - hard to sharpen and very expensive. Swings and Roundabouts really... If I had loads of money I'd shoot the kinetics or something like the 300xtream but at $30 or $40 a pop it would bankrupt me!
Like ChuckC says - pick one that suites your setup and sharpens easy then stick to it.
145 grain Stos,100 grain adapter,Almost hunting sharp out of the package.Just a little touching up and Im good to go.
John
Magnus 2 blade.
Zwickey delta 2 blade for me
BOB
Man ... what a hard question ... Eclipse 125 are probably on top for me. But I do like the Snuffer 125's with bleeder's too!
For me I like the 145 gr magnus stinger 4 blade
The old yellow/green Bear razorheads where hard to beat. With as much interest there is in then, what's the possibility Bear would "re-introduce" them? I'd buy them.
Snuffer
For me the woodsman fly great i keep trying to shoot the zwickeys but they never fly quite right. Although i can sharpen them better than woodsman. The way i figure it is no matter how sharp you get your BH if you cant hit your target what good is it.
Wensel Woodsman for me. Best combination of dart like flight and penetration out of lighter bows I have used. Sharpening takes time with a new head, but the results are worth it!
ZWICKYYYYYYyyyyyyy
I cant believe no one has said the Muzzy Phantoms yet.
I know so guys who use the Phantoms. They like them well enough.
Grizzly El Grande (190 grain).
Zwickey
I am shooting the magnus stinger and have had absolulty great results so far.
SNUFFERS 160
Grizzly El Grande 190
Magnus two blade
Zwickeys for me
For me, it would be GK Silverflame XL's. For anybody else, it should be what they have the most confidence in.
Bisch
One more for Zwickeys
Olin
So, since I have nothing to do this morning, I've added all the opinions ^^
The results are:
18 - Zwickeys (Delta & Eskimo)
10 - Magnus (2 blade +)
9 - Bear (Razorhead)
8 - Grizzle (El Grande)
7 - Snuffer
5 - Woodsman
3 - Eclipse
2 - VPA Terminator/Razorcap/Muzzy/GK/Simmons/STOS
1 - Ribtek/No Mercy/Ace/Abowyer/Rage
I'm no BH expert so if the list is wrong, point it out to me :)
And just to post my view, if I was to try a broadhead out, it would be the Centaur Big Game!
Just looks effective!
Add one more for the MAGNUS heads. The zwickeys are great heads , but magnus has a unconditional lifetime warrinty, soo that puts the icing on the cake for me. Plus Magnus has started putting a tanto on the tip!
Intersting post to say the least.
Zwickey Delta 2 blade. Really miss the old Bear Razorheads they were my favorites behind the Zwickeys.
I'm a big fan of Magnus Stingers. used them for a few years now and they always fly true for me. I also like that I can replace the blades, I've never been good at sharpening anything... :p
Grizzly El Grande
3 blade would be a Snuffer but 2 blade would be a Simmons Intercepter
Steel Force 140gr. Sabretooth with 100gr. steel insert.
magnus snuffer 125!!
My go to head right now is the Razorcap. Then it would be Phantoms. I just got some Centaur left bevel Big Game heads that I haven't tried yet but it seems like the best two blade out there.
Stos 160 grain, tanto tip 42 grain adapter. sharpens easy. At almost 3:1 ratio they fly great.
I could not hope to pick just one but have shot Tuskers more than anything for the last year or so.
The two and three blade bh are nearly even in popularity...interesting.
How many are using natural materials to make a bh? =]
Bear Razorheads. I have used them for 15 years, my father has used them for 30 years.
