I got to get this monkey off my back
Missed 8 deer , and this week missed one under me then the ran 12 steps and ill be damned if i didnt miss him again.
maybe I need glasses :knothead:
Self control during the shot, and pick a hair accuracy will get that critter off your back. I'm guessing 2010 won't help unless you are hiring a coach 8^). You're getting buck fever big time. You need to spend time among them to get used to their presence at close range. And you still have to pick a hair...not a deer, to shoot at when the time comes.
Have to agree with George on this one. With that kind of track record you might want to dedicate a couple of hunts to just being close and picking a spot. You been lucky so far because a bad shot that connects will feel a lot worse.
I've went the other way.. I have had 15 deer into longbow range and have not shot one arrow. Some due to wind, angle or being busted but most just because they were young deer.
Getting close is still alot of fun..
You need to do like I do and put three arrows on the string at once. Somethings gonna bleed, hahaha.
I had a year like that a few years ago. I knew something wasn't right so I had my eyes checked. Turned out I was developing cataracts which was affecting my vision in several ways....had them fixed.....problem solved.
I thought I was too young for that sort of a problem but the doc told me that over 50 it can happen to anyone....sometimes younger!
I spent plenty of Time watchin Just need to concentrate more
I have missed a lot of deer, and still do. What has helped me out a lot is picking a spot before i draw. For me that was trick. I get excited and and start to pull back before I pick a spot and wind up looking at the whole animal instead of a spot. m2c
