If you're doing spot and stalk, the glove has all the advantages.  I like the 3 finger and then put a wool glove with the fingers cut off over the leather.

Quick, protects the palm, and no fiddling around at critical points.

I started with a glove, and thought I found the one with the American Leathers Bigshot. I have two that just collect dust ever since switching to a tab. It took a little getting used too, but now I dont feel right without a tab.

This nails it down, you just have to try both and use what you like.  I'm strictly a glove guy, but that's just what I like.  Everyone's different.

I used a glove for many years then tried a tab and wished I had tried one 25 years ago.  I'll never switch back to a glove but as stated above to each his own.

I have used a tab for 20+ years, i like it but these gloves they have out now im thinking about giving a try. Its just what ever you get comfortable shooting with i believe. Just like anything else, what works for one guy might not  for another.

I have used a glove for over 30 years, just always had trouble anchoring with a tab. This spring got one, 3 under and started playing with it while rehabing from shoulder surgery. Now that is all I use, and shoot better than ever in my life. Tight groups, better arrow flight more consistency from shot to shot.

I've used both over the years.  Shot with a glove for many years, thiking it was always in place for hunting.  Picked up a tab again a few years ago and find that I much prefer it over the glove.  Definitely a better release for me, I find it much more comfortable and easier to use when hunting.  If I need my fingers, I simply flip the tab to the back of my hand or into my palm.  I wear a thin wool liner glove on my string hand and put the tab on over it.  After a few shots, I couldn't tell the difference between wearing the glove or not.  Make it a tab for me

Tab or glove? Personal preference. Lesson I learned on a trip to Michigan for whitetail, be versatile don't let a missed piece of gear ruin a trip. I have always dedicated some of my practice time to bare fingers! Being able to shoot with nothin but skin means never loosing a hunt to a 12 dollar piece of forgotten equipment.

I use either a Bateman cordovan tab or a damascus glove with nylon faced fingers and both are great. I don't think I want to do much shooting with bare fingers. I have used other gloves, like mechanic's gloves, to shoot with just to see how they work. They are not as good as an archery glove or a tab, but they still do okay in a pinch and are much better for me than shooting bare fingered -- ouch.   "[dntthnk]"

Use what feels best to you, but try each for a couple of days to really get a feel of it.

I started out with a glove, shot with one for a long time. But this year I started experimenting with a tab and much prefer it now. For cooler weather, I find I can slip a tab over mechanic's gloves,(in my case bought from Bobcat)and shoot quite well with it.
I am confident that I get a better release with a tab. The one I have been using is from Alaska Bowhunting Supply. Still not sure if I need the spacer but am currently shooting with it in place.

Tab, I make my own out of TPO, or EPDM membrane roofing. EPDM for colder weather, TPO for warmer weather.

Switched to a tab. like it a lot better in cold weather, just wear tactical gloves underneath(Thanks OB). Just started using a Saunders Pak Tab now, love  it.

I like the tab.  I think it's what you're the most comfortable and confident with.

I really like the golve but have trouble when I use one thick enough to protect my fingers. The tab seems to work better. I use a cartel tab and it is easy to replace the leather when it wears.

Another vote for the SAM. Been using one for the last 15 years. Yes they do take some time to break-in but isn't that part of the fun of Trad shooting?
