What would be your choice if you could have only one bow for Hunting , Target , 3D .
My Kanati! That was easy!
I'd get a Dryad Orion. Oh wait a minute, is this a trick question?
LOL
Mike
Although I keep getting drawn to longbows I'd have to pick my Quinn Stallion. I seem to shoot it the best of all the bows I've tried.
My Black Widow PSRV
Couldn't do it.
I always wanted just one but in my area they breed like rats and now I get 70 and I can not let them go,damn.
(http://i765.photobucket.com/albums/xx293/dazzafelix/DSCF0005-3-1.jpg)How can you let go one of these?
Hill (Cheeta ?) 70" OL, 78-80#@28". Clear front & back.
My Pronghorn 3-piece longbow.
Mike - cool response - obviously can't trick you :)
Charlie
ONE BOW???? I don't think that would be possible.........ONE bow?
MOHAWK
What if you could only have one leg? What if you could only have three tires on your truck?
I can't answer that question *^).
The FOX ROYAL CROWN.
21st Century Edge
My Sheepeater! At 52#, I could pull it as an old man. Light enough to carry all day. Tough as a boot. Shoots where you look. Shoots fast. It's a proven meat maker. I have literally a hundred bows, and I'd still take the lil Sheepeater!!!
Today it would be my Howard Hill Big 5.
I am going to own another one of the HH bows but at a lighter draw wt that I intend to wear some strings out with.
If anyone happens to have one sitting around in the 34-45 lb range collecting dust that they would do some trading on. I'd even try one of the shorter models.
Please contact me.
God bless,Mudd
A Toelke d/r Whip, no a Toelke super D! Gimme a minute, I gotta think.
ONE BOW? It can't be done, can it? Maybe you meant one per year? Right now it would be my MOAB or maybe the Yellowstone or the JD Berry or my Horne combo. I can't decide!
My Black Widow MA III - for sure !
I made that decision two years ago. Got rid of all my other bows when my Blacktail arrived. After shooting and hunting with it, I realized that every minute spent with any other bow was a less meaningful minute.
However, nothing at all wrong with collecting and shooting lots of bows. I have more than one of other things, like fly rods, banjos, friends, guns, etc.
This one:

My HH Halfbreed 60# @ 29" and it's a good thing since that's the only one I have.
:D
Its hard to pick just one.but I quess it would be my 70 kodiak mag.

Right on!!
I'm very happy with my Big River Longbow, the only other bow I would need would be another Big River Longbow! :archer:

OK I love my Mags for ducks or hunting in a blind but for "hunting target and 3D" it would be the second to the last bow in my collection I would have picked. Care to elaborate on your post a bit? Really curious about your reasons for your choice.
It would definitely be my Black Widow PSA recurves in the 62# @ 28" vintage... I prefer the V series (Ironwood)but I have the II and III in the same weight also!
A Hill Any Hill!
Prolly my 60" Super Shrew Deluxe, not too short, not too long, 54lb @ 30" = plenty of hp for most anything, light enough to carry all day but not too light for good shootin. Its my go anywhere do anything bow. Oh yea, it shoots like your favorite bow should!
Eric

Nice collection Felix.
It gets tougher to find a favorite, will it be the Bear TD with the Rose Oak limbs, the Robinson Peregrine or Purist, Schulz LB, Miller LB, dang. So I decided to take a bunch of not being used, to a dealer to sell. At least now I have few spaces on the bow rack for something new.
I discovered a few years ago, that it is tougher for me to switch back and forth and still shoot good and I shoot better if I stick with one bow. I am still trying........
Pick what you feel most comfortable shooting, try a few out, beg, borrow, trade or whatever, it's cheaper that way.
Defintiley my Quinn Stallion, #50, a killing machine!
You are right Barry, with a single bow you shoot better, but this is what we love, this is what we dream, I just love to touch and shoot bows.In the meanwhile your Type1 B riser will arrive in mid Feb. nobody touched it.Felix
No way I could get down to just 1 bow. :biglaugh: My 2 favorites are my Zipper SXT and my Black Widow PSA.
Bill
Any of John Brooks' bows...He makes awesome bows here in Indiana.
It would be tough...probably my Horne's Traditionalist. Here's some of my bows.
as long as its a Hill style bow 66" 53# @ 27" , with just a touch of string follow and all yew lams i'd be pretty happy...

Because that's what I started out with when I was younger.I hunt out of ladder stands and can draw my bow with out standing up. and I can't do that with 58" & 60" bows.I use it for target and 3D shoots.I have longer bows but don't feel the need to shoot anything else.
Thanks Big Bird.......confidence in a bow is a great reason to pick it as your "all around bow"
Perish the thought! :scared:
The rule about having only one woman in my life I can handle.
But one bow????
Why???? :p :biglaugh:
I'm surprised that I'm saying this because, among other reasons, it sat nearly unshot on the shelf for a year: Border Griffon GL longbow! I swore I was a recurve guy!
Old Hoyt Pro hunter special left hand 50# @ 28"
Black Widow. I have two, an MA11, and a little over a year old PSAX.
What Mr.Stout said!
I agree 100% with having only one woman. When it comes to bows... That's another story. Maybe I can answer with what my favorite bow is "This Season":
Custom Recurve Grip RER Vortex, 56",53# @ 28" that I got here on Trad Gang in a trade. At my 26" draw (47#) it can be a nice one for deer hunting, 3D and stump shootin' all day, all night, Maryann. ;)

A 68-70" "Big River" Hill style bow by John McDonald of Wisconsin. That was easy.
Tough question !!! As I have so many very nice bows, I would have to choose my Shawnee Dakota [ Thank you Bob Walker] :wavey:
A couple of days ago I would have said my ACS. Now that I just picked up a Dale Dye. I have to go with the Dye.
My Lofton Choctaw Chief
I have limited myself to just one bow, my 54# @ 28 60" silvertip because, that one bow feel's like an old hat. I like the way it settle's into my hand and I know when everything is just right! but... I would like to have another just like it! Jason
Right now, I will have to say my Firefly LB. I shoot it the best!
A couple of months ago my answer may not have been the same. But today I'd say a 66" 4 or 5 lam Hill bow, about 50 pounds at 29".
Acadian Carbon Reflex for me!
Black Widow PSAII
Close second is my dad's new Big Jim Buffalo Cocobolo and Zebrawood longbow.
If I ever had to make that decision, it would be my Pronghorn 3-pc., 64".
Haven't had to deal with this problem since I was 6.
I believe that is the age I last owned only 1 bow.
However, with all the great bows I have owned I think my choice would have to be a Bear Kodiak, 60", 60-65#@28. Have always had at least 2 Kodiaks in my harem since I was 7, and believe I could kill anything on earth with one of these specs.
But if I did have only 1 bow I'd be looking at every tree I passed sizing them up to start scraping one down to make bow #2.
My 54" Rocky Mountain Recurve.
I agree with Jim Picarelli..My PSRX OSAGE...Mike
We have a house full of bows between myself my wife and the boys.....
But only ONE is truely, just, MINE!!!!!
My old Mikuta longbow. 62" 53# @ 28"
(and yes,it even has my name on it. Just so there is no confusion)
My Predator.
I have several bows around here, but I hunt with my Predator only. I have an old Martin Lynx recurve that is geared for bow fishing, but that`s it.
It amazes me to see the bow racks some shooters have. I wouldn`t be able to deal with that much decision making.
still curious
this will do ..my blacktail (http://i817.photobucket.com/albums/zz92/wwbtrad/stevesfolder3076.jpg)
If that was the case and it isn't. I would have to find another habit!!!!!! MIKE
Great Northern Fireball
TREADWAY LONGBOW HANDS DOWN!!!!!!
HANDS DOWN my J D Berry. Its soooooooo pretty and shoots the way a longbow should shoot. I guess it should James has been building longbows for 30 years now.
Dean,
This just is an unthinkable question for a bow junkie. I suppose the DAS Daala is probably the most pragmatic, although not the prettiest. But it would be the ONE.
Fact is I can have more than one so I don't even need to think about this one ....
A Marriah Schafer RER Thermal Silvertip T?D recurve! Only one? You've got to be kidding me!!
Bill
It would have to be my Robertson Primal Styk 53#@28" or my Robertson Mystical 67#@28". Don't make me narrow it down and more than that...lol :archer:
John,
With a 14# difference in draw weight between your two Robertsons, at some point in time your shoulders will make the decision for you! :) I'm shooting bows in the 46-48# range at present.
Bill
Bob Morrison ILF carbon/foam recurve.
Although i really like my PSA X and the ACS i just sold, cant believe i did that. :banghead:
Can't answer until I try every 58" & 60" TD recurve made. Don't hurry me, I'm working on it... :D
Just one bow? Highly probable I would shoot better, but I love pretty trad bows, so: no way!
I would have to go with my Schafer Silvertip #13 of 15 Cape Buffalo edition Recurve. 60inches long 58 @ 28inch draw. One beautiful recurve. But I can't just have one so I will continue to be a bow HO!!!
Just one...OUCH.
My Dale Dye Trails End Recurve
I've been shooting sticks for more than50 years and have shot just about everything out there. I currently own a few high tech, three piece longbows, some Bear T/D recurves, some selfbows and a few Hills. If my life depended on it, I would take a Hill. Damn near indestructible and always get the job done. Luckily, my life doesn't depend on it so i can shoot all my other bows as well.
RER Arroyo 54"s. It is quick, quiet and short enough to hunt anywhere! Shawn
Schafer Silvertip one piece for me,52#@28" 60", she's a shooter!
George is right!What a ridiculous question!LOL.
Right now my 1964 Camo Kodiak. Something tells me when I get my Norm Johnson Snakebit this summer; that may change.
If it could only be one... it would have to be the bow in my hand at the time :D
Too many good bows to choose just one...
A&H ACS CX, Bocote riser, 66" 46@28 :)
RER TD recurve. 60" 56#@28". About as sweet of a bow as I've ever shot. Still looking to try a Dye.
Hmmm, tough question....hmmm, real tough question. Probably a '59 Kodiak or a real good copy of one.
Buhu, I only have one bow.. :(
Well, I'll have 2 soon :D
Black Widow PTF in Iron wood with snake skin on the limbs, pulling 50 at 27. Damn, now I am depressed lol.
Would have to be my Safari Elite 51@31 named "Millie"
cari-bow wolverine: 50# @28 fast,light,accurate
and a real looker.
