I highly suggest that anyone wanting to give bunnies a shot should hit one of these warm ups, I will make every one I can.
Im there pal.
Yup the 3rd. I just walked the two pieces by the house we do the kids hunt in and saw 19. They were all over the place, I got 15 shots and drew fur but no bunnies!! We need to remember to post some kids along the far edge of the first piece as 8 or 9 bunnies went that way today!! See you guys Sunday at 1. Shawn
Doug I know ya have a bunch of frequent flier miles! :bigsmyl: Shawn
Sometimes I wish there were two of me... Maybe three even! Am I gonna hunt Winter Bow in NJ with The Tella Tubbies or a Bunny Warm Up with Shawn? You guys are killin' me. :p
The third one of me needs to work on home renovations or else get cut off from the "icky-icky-icky" type thing.

QuoteGeeesh, can I justify the 4 hour drive one way for a warmup.............
Common Dave :readit:
17 rabbits killed by the gun hunters??? Fooey!!!, Terry will kill twice that many with his longbow before he makes it 10 feet from the truck.Ill chase the wounded ones down for you Terry, since your old catchdog Jamie might not show.
Anyone is welcome!! David, ya can always come in on saturday bud. Always room for ya!! Yeah the gun guys will slow down, but I have two new pushes this year, and they will be dandies!! One is called the honey hole and it has tons of bunnies but real thick!! Shawn

(I'm waitin' on Shawn to give me the "green light") ;)
Have a good time everyone! Remember to "aim" for the bunnies eye. If ya miss, you'll hit 'em in the head. ;) (not my quote) Was something Dean Torges wrote in a TBM article.

Mikey,I usually miss 'em altogether. We'll be sure to leave you some for the "BIG ONE" in FEB.
I think we will only be in for a dusting at best, Should be good weather!
After last year, shouldn't this be in the Dangerous Game Forum? ;)
Have a great time guys.
Won't be able to even attempt to make this one, some work issues popped up two days ago.......
Its looking good so far. The wife and kid are both much better today, and hopefully by Sunday they will be fine. I already got clearance though... :saywhat:

Shawn
Jamie just read that, see ya soon bud!! You get to run my bunnies down as I am dying!! OOOHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn
Sounds good to me. Anything with a sweet name like Honey Hole has to be terrible. I still have a scar from the rabbit valley from last year...
Top for the crew coming Sunday for our warm up!! OOOHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn
I'll drive, Not sure what I'm in for but I'm sure I'll regret it Monday.
ohhhhhhhhhh Yeahhhhhhhhhh!
Didn't make it last year really lookin forward to it!! See everyone Sunday!
hope you're feeling better Shawn!
The nasty forecast is par for the course.I remember last years warm up wasnt much better than whats coming tomorrow, I remember looking like I had freezer burn after the sweat on my clothes froze.Oh well, the pain and suffering make it more memorable.
I will be there, providing the little man keeps on the up and up.
Just got real clearance from the boss...
It is never to bad, a few years bak we had 40"s of snow on the ground and when we started out in the morning wind chill was 22 below. Wind chill will only be zero tomorrow so dress light so ya don't get sweaty. Working on stew, still feel lousy but better. OOOHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn
Good luck there, guys!
It's good that it will be cold. The blood from the briers will freeze. Yeah Baby bring it on..
OK, quiver is stuffed full of arrows, got the rest of my gear ready.
What else needs to be done? All the drinks, food and such covered?
Everyone eat a banana and hydrate...I dont feel like dragging anyone out because they are cramping up. :biglaugh:
OOOOHHHHHHHH YYYYYYEEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
With Shawn sick maybe you other guts can keep up. LOL Hoprfully you feel better buddy !
Shawn- Pete and I got some bread, gatoraids and Pepsi. We will check tomorrow on here tomorrow to see if there is anything else we can get on the way!
Matt
Ahhhhhh man I cant wait.Working til 11 tomorrow and running home to grab my gear.I did like Mikey said and kept aiming for my paper bunnys eye.I got it 8 outa 10.Now if the real ones will stay put and step out from behind 10 layers of rose and berry bush they can get some too!!! Bring it on.
Sounds good, should be a good hunt! Lots of bunnies around and I have been shooting prety good too! Bod, Thanks bud but the only way guys can keep up is if I break a leg!! OOOOHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn
Yeah got my gear by the door..Four hours at work then meet Jeff and T at the thruway.
I might be down a tad early. I have to drop some relatives off at the airport in Albany. I might stop a Dick's to price some brush pants, be cheap and not buy them and then regret it afterward. I like punishing myself.
26 Central ave Ravena? Where are we meeting?
If you do this without brushpants on it's not punishing yourself........it's suicide!!!!!!!
David
16 Old School Rd Selkirk NY is the address. The one posted is my old house!! A little early is fine, we can shoot a tad before heading out. Yeah, brushpants re a must really!! OOOHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn
Brush pants?! We dont need no stinkin brush pants. If you arent bleeding you arent hunting hard enough! :biglaugh: :jumper: :jumper:
By the way it is now 11 degreeswith a wind chill of minus 6 at my house now so it should be perfect for tomorrow!!OOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn
Checked the weather...Snow likely and areas of blowing snow. Cloudy, with a high near 21. Wind chill values as low as -6. Blustery, with a northwest wind between 18 and 22 mph, with gusts as high as 37 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
I might bring a neck gaitor and a fleece hat now... :goldtooth:
See you all tomorrow!
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YYYYYYYYYEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Shawn just a heads up. Not going to make it today. Some personal stuff came up. Gonna miss you guys have a good time..Tucker
Guys, I am sorry but we have to cancel I have been called in towork to plow and than snow removal. Jamie or someone keep this at the top please!! We will do it next weekend same time same place!! Shawn
I had to plow today myself, got to take the good with the bad in our line of work
TTT
Just as well Shawn, this wind is horrendous.let's hope the weather is better next week.
nice!! ive never been so happy that a warm-up was canceled! i have over a foot of snow now and its comin down like mad still!!
i'll be there with bells on next sun!!
gaff
That's OK I'd hate to shoot into the wind and have it turn an arrow around :help:
I'll keep these directions for next week. Just means I'll have to put my rabbit recipe away for another day.
Actually the pipes in my house froze last night so that will be on my to do list today!
ahhh the suspense, I cat take it.
OOOOhHhhhhhhhhhhhhhh YeaAAHhhhhhhhhhhhh
you see there was a break in my voice during the oh yeah :biglaugh:
Sorry to hear Shawn! I know you love this kind of weather and it'll hold the rabbits tight! Gotta pay the bills! Thanks for the invite and I hope to see you next weekend.
Maybe we'll be able to get old Guru to come next weekend.
The bunnies arer safe for another day...
Charlie, the bunnies will be kinda hit or miss on days like today. If they are out, they will be in heavy tangles of vines and thorns.
Just as well... My inlaws have no heat so I'm headed over there to get them back up and running.
Amazing how your relatives love you when they have no heat and you know how to fix it.
If anyone knows Izzy's number..... he was coming right after work and he may no see this post.
I stopped home to check, I had a feeling. Thanks for keeping posted tough Keith.Glad to get off the road anyway it was bad out there.
Just got home guys, dead tired!! Next Sunday at 1pm. will be great. I imagine Curt will be up for it as well!! OOOHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn

I am looking forward to the rescheduled warm up. Bowspirit will ride with me if there's still room for us.
I have been looking for rabbits everywhere I drive.
Ok guys I brought this back to the top. This Sunday at 1pm at my house. The warm-up is on, lets kill some bunnies!!! We start hunting by 1:30 so be here or be left behind!! OOOHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn

Yes, I'm coming for sure, but man it's gonna be cold!
Looks like I'm gonna make this one, guys...
Homer anybody else. I am making stew, so someone bring a few drinks and someone grab a loaf of Italian bread!!I would like a count of who is coming. Terry ya still coming. I know Curt and a bud, plus you all who posted. I will check later, the stew alone will be worth the trip! OOOHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn
Im there.Ill bring some bread from Bella Napoli, its on my way.Gonna be pretty warm a 20 degrees so dress light.
I'll be there! I went out this morning just as a warm up to the warm up. I had 4 running shots and got one. I learned how to "jump" rabbits from Shawn and had a nice blood line down my cheek. As Shawn always says, if you ain't bleeding, you ain't hunting!
Shawn, I can bring some drinks. Any preference?
Nice job Terry....got lucky AGAIN huh? LOL.
Shawn, I am coming with Homer and so is Kevin. I have pepsi, chips and Italian bread and some 125gr blunts. Anything else to bring?
Sounds great guys, should be about 14 of us!! Stew and Lasagna after the hunt on the back porch!! Should be fun!! OOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn
Shawn- sorry I have not gotten back to you, I had to work all day. I made a whole crock pot full of pulled pork and saurkrat. I will bring that with me tomorrow. We will possibly be earlier, if nothing else we will stop and have a coffee.
-Homer/Matt
Guys, I will not be home until around noon, just so ya know. I am sighting in a tactical rifle tomorrow. This thing is an honest 6" grouper at 800 yards. I will be ready and raring to go, should be a great hunt! Shawn
Dang, with that rifle you can shoot clear across Albany Cty. A yote killer???
Gotta kill them one way or another!! They are wiping out our deer herd. I have a bud who has killed 14 so far and he tells me he hasn't put a dent in their numbers!! I am gonna start helping myself!! May even trap some this year!! See ya tomorrow!! OOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn
Have fun tomorrow guys.........pics, don't forget some pics......
David
Charging the camera batteries as I type David....
4 degrees, going to shoot this 14# .308 right now, be back around noon!! Dress light it is awful warm out!! See ya all around 1pm. OOOOHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn
SOOOOOOOO how it go????
It was awesome!! We had 15 guys show up and we hammered the bunnies!! We took right around 100 shots and Curt(Guru) killed 2 and assisted on another. We saw a minimum of 30 rabbits in about 4 hours of hunting. I know I jumped 17 myself thru-out the day!! Guys will be along with stories and pics. shortly! This is a great group of guys and everyone had at least 4 or more shots. Start the stories guys, so we can get everyone pumped for the real deal!! OOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn
Man that sounds like good hunting!
10 or 12 shos myself. No blood drawn, from bunnies anyway,my legs got torn up from the thorns.A lot of fun with a real good crew. Thanks for the invite Shawn.
Izzy I don't care if its bunnie blood or Izzy blood......we need pics!!!!!! :bigsmyl:
David
Curt had the camera and I'm sure will have some great photos. Shawn, Jamie, Izzy, Curt, and Jason (aka Meathead)did a masterful job in setting up the pushes. Shawn is a rabbit Jedi! That guy can telepathically locate a rabbit from a 100 yards. He "jumps" 10 times more rabbits than anyone else. It may have to do with the fact that he is fearless and obviously can't feel pain and there is not a multiflora rose bush he won't dive into.
I got to watch Kevin make a nice shot on a running rabbit, Curt (Guru) impale the old Oryctolagus cuniculus, and I was able to get real lucky and thread a good solid 20 yard shot through some brush and center punched a loping bunny. I then had to leave. I only had 2 shots this afternoon and one of them was on a hairy stump. I could've swore it was a sitting rabbit. The hairy stump does have a nice hole in it now though.
Jamie, I must apologize to you for shooting a rabbit without you nearby to dive on it. I'll stay closer to you next time.
I wish I could've stayed for the dinner and fun conversation afterwards. There were a lot of great guys that I would've loved to have spent some more time with.
Shawn, you did it again my friend! You are an amazing host and a ton of fun to be around. Thanks again to you and Cindy for opening up your home to all of us. My wife wonders why I'm always bleeding when I come home from rabbit hunting and I told her "you should see the other guy"!
Oh man, what a hunt. I had six shots that ranged from 'just barely' to 'in the next county'. Just hearing "BUNNNNNNNY!!!" again brought a smile to my face. Not to mention, all the great guys to share the hunt with. And, to top it all off, this was just the warm up.
February can't come fast enough... :bigsmyl:
BTW, it almost goes without saying: Shawn and Cindy, thank you again for opening your home to us and making such an amazing event possible. You're both two of the finest people I've ever met...
I believe I jump so many bunnies because I have been hunting these same woods and fields for 38 years now. My Dadsat me on the floor of a gun shop way back than and put a single shot 410 in my lap and said if ya can cock it, its yours. Well I had to hold it between my knees and use both thumbs but I got it back. That was my start at bunny hunting and I have been at it ever since, now with a stick and string!! I have been jumping the same brush piles and rose bushes a long time and I guess have just got a knack for it!! I love to put bunnies out for all you guys!! There is not a better bunch anywhere!! OOOHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn
That sounds like a heck of a good time.
Thanks for your hospitality Shawn.I had an absolutly awsome time!I got off three shots but didnt connect.I have never seen more rabbits ever.A great day with great people.Truly a bad day to be a rabbit with Guru on the prowl. Thanks again Shawn.Glen
Sorry I missed it. Thats what happens when you work weekends. Good for you guys/girls..
shawn, first off i want to thank you and cindy for being two of the finest people i've ever had the HONAR to be around.....
Hey Gaff, I bet you're sorry you missed the Patriots game! Oh, wait a minute. They forgot to show up for the game as well! Sorry, I couldn't resist! Although, I'm not looking forward to the Colts having to play Baltimore!
Gaff and everyone else who comes ya have to just shoot. I know its tough but if ya don't ya just don't get a shot at all. I have to learn to just keep an arrow nocked when I approach piles. I should of had 20 shots instead of 9 or 10 but today they just kept surprising me. What a blast to watch everyone shooting and Tyler was are only young guy and he had 10 or 12 shots, 4 at one bunny. One of the best moments for me was standing back and hearing from a hundred yards away "Just take your time and pick a spot" than another arrow being loosed that was repeated 3 more times!! OOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn
HA HA HA.....way to kick a guy when he's down..
i think there's only one way to fix our football differances.. we go to indiana and bowhunt for whitetails in november.. know anybody with any land there????? LOL :p
worth a shot...
gaff
I'll have pix in the mornin'...
It was a please fellas...always good to share time with fellow archers doing something we love to do!
Thanx to Shawn and Cindy
I'm not sayin' nothin' about the Pats ;)
J...E...T...S Jets, Jets, Jets !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Would just like to thankyou Shawn and Cindy for all you do to put on these hunts and make us feel at home while we're there.Shawn does everything he can, including organizing the "pushes",kicking every potential hiding spot and fighting and bleeding his way thru the nastiest wild rose tangles you've ever seen,to try and get the bunnys moving.Cindy, thanks for opening your home to us again and dinner was delicous and much appreciated.
Congrats to everyone who got a bunny, that goes double for you Curt, and by the looks of it they're still plenty left for "the big hunt."It was cool watching my son take fur off 2 bunnys 2 minutes apart and spending the afternoon with a great bunch of folks.
Jeff, thanks for the opportunity to watch you shoot at a charging rabbit, drop the bow after a close miss and try to tackle the wascally rabbit! All the while Bowspirit was in the background just hoping you'd get out of his way so he could shoot! That was funny right thar!
This happened right after another rabbit tried to commit suicide by charging out into a open cut corn field and having 6 or 8 guys cutting down corn stalks! That rabbit looked to be the size of good sized beagle! He's still out there for the "official" bunny hunt!
i still have a smile on my face ... what a blast.
oh, and greg(skpmaster) after handlin that shrew of yours, i think i may have to start lookin into one.. that thing was awesome!!! light as a feather, and fast... ya got me thinkin when you said i could get a 52"er..
gaff
Shawn thanks for the invite today. Cindy- thank you for putting up with a bunch of what my wife would call a bunch of immature idiots. The day couldn't have gone better. Plenty of bunnies, plenty of laughes, plenty of scratches to take home. Shawn put us in the thick of it. The big hunt can't come fast enought!
-Matt
Terry,it was self defense with that rabbit...we we're face to face at 3ft. but I was glad to give you something to laugh at.Chris had his chance at 'em when he ran across to Jamie and almost ran him over too. :biglaugh:
Today was a blast. Shawn, you and Cindy are the best. Thank you!
Hey Shawn, just wanted to chime in my thanks. It is really nice of you and Cindy to give up your home, time and hot hunting spots to us. You guys are really good pepole, can't wait to come up again in February. Oh yeah and thanks for all the rabbit donations, we'll be having rabbit for dinner tomorrow night. OOOhYeaahhh
First shot of the day at a loping bunny!!
One second we were just walking by...
Next second someone yells BUNNYYYY!!!! As you can see things got serious real quick!
Then one tried to run the gauntlet out into the old corn field...the aftermath....
Working the hedgerow along the air strip...
Further down the hedgerow, a tuff shot on a running bunny...as you can see, it wasn't an easy recovery....
Then Terry, "Indianabowman"(should be Indiana sharp shooter) threaded an arrow thru twenty yards of brush to make a great hit on this bunny...
Three so far...
A couple of the boys had to leave early and miss the late action....
The rabbit valley held a lot of action as usual.
A lot of arrows were sent airborn. I swore hit another bunny as it hopped past...saw it hit, heard it hit....but never saw any evidence, never found the arrow after looking for a bit....
Then while working the hedgerow about 50yds away "Homer" Matt finished off a slow moving bunny. At that point we couldn't tell if it was the one I thought I'd hit. But then on the way to us, he asked...."hey Curt are you shooting pink and purple fletch".....they had found my bloody arrow...mystery solved.
Sorry to say I didn't get a pic of Matt with his bunny :(
Then right after that, I had a bunny in front of me that was being shot at by the others. He had no idea I was there so he had stopped in front of me at about 12yds. I finally saw a tiny opening, and slipped an arrow thru that clipped his head, but didn't kill it...another arrow thru the chest ended it...

What fun!!!!
Awesome guys.......just fueling the fire......Terry kill his in the Island of Trees? That guy never gets shut out...... :notworthy:
David
Pure luck David!
Hey Gaff! Now that you don't have a team to root for in the football playoffs, I'll throw you some incentive to root for the Colts! If the Colts win the Super Bowl, I'll take you on at least a 5 day bowhunt on my place in Indiana. All you'll need to do is buy an Indiana non-resident license and meet at my house and I'll drive us there and pay for all the gas, food, and lodging! All I ask is a little enthusiasm for the BEST AFC football team - the COLTS.
Gaff, I would think it only fair that you change your avatar to a blue horseshoe. : )
David terry killed his on the 2nd. valley push! We did it a little different today as we did the honeyhole push. We are gonna do that one again at this years JLMBH, I believe Izzy got 6 ormore shots on that one push, I know I literally stepped on 6 rabbits that push. I believe we are gonna pair up on some of these pushes, so one guy can jump and the other shoot. I wonder if anybody will want to walk with me?? :bigsmyl: I really believe this spot we have only done once in all the years of the hunt will be the very best this year! It is thick and loaded with sign as well as some big bunnies!! What a blast, but I am home as my knees would not let me get out of bed this morning, but I am moving now!! OOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn
Awesome photos Curt and you are a rabbit killing machine!
Thank you very much for posting the photos.
Terry, I am a Pittsburg fan but I could be persuaded to love the colts!! I would even buy pay for the gas and all the food and buy your license for a chance at a trip like that! OOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn
Shawn, we'll have to put together a rotation signup sheet to walk with you! Gee, I wonder why the knees are sore??
GO COLTS!!!!!!!!wooohooooo!!!!
oh, and terry if er WHEN they DO win the super bowl.... i would pay the bill.. man, that does sound like a fun trip though hey!!
gaff
You guys may as well forget it....J-E-T-S!!!
Terry, its fine. Im sure once you hone your skills a bit, you will start making headshots and alleviate the need for a swan dive. :biglaugh:
Chris, thanks for picking me up.
I think I got 7 or 8 shots, with one attempted dive on a non-wounded bunny.
I saw two bunnies that were bigger than any I have seen yet...
A great time, great people and outstanding host(bunny whisperer) and hostess. Thanks Shawn, and Cindy.
I think I need to practice some more....I missed some gimme shots.
Cant wait until the hunt!
OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YYYYYYYYEEEEEAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!
JETS are what you fly in to go to a good hunting destination! COLTS are what you ride to the Super Bowl!
Shawn, you've earned a trip my friend! We'll talk details! I still think we need your mojo for the Colts to win.
Shawn, thanks for the fine offer. I bought a lifetime hunting license in Indiana when I was 16, so no license needed for me. I still own a cabin so lodging is free (the cabin is rough, but my son killed his B&C buck within 100 yards of it). However, from the looks of me you can tell I don't miss many meals! I wouldn't burden anyone with buying meals for me! I didn't get this fine figure by being a light eater!
Jamie, "head shots"? You have to be thinking of Curt. I'm just a "blind sow"!
I am pumped!! That was an awesome read with great pictures! Thank for for taking us along. I need to hit it again this afternoon. I can tell you it's tough getting after them by yourself. They wear this ole man out running from goal line to goal line..lol I do hate it when some of them cheat and leave the playing field by crossing over the fence into a pasture I don't have permission to hunt.
BTW did any of the guys have hare in their supper?..lol
Thanks again!
God bless,Mudd
ya know terry, i think luck stopped being a factor about 6 rabbits ago... you outta do some ariels at the bunny hunt and show us what we already know you CAN do. lol
go colts!!! woooohoooo!!!
Talk about gimme's!! I had one under a laying down tree and it buggared a little and moved up along the tree and stopped. It was no more than 15ft. broadside!! I shot about 3"s high and cenetered the tree. I also had a 40 yard shot thru some super thick stuff, I let loose and to my amazement my arrow found its way thru and I hit about 6"s over the bunnies head!! I myself would like to see the Jets, but my money is on the Colts!! OOOHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn

Terry.......what is it they say about luck...."it's when opportunity meets preparedness"......then I guess your "lucky"
Can't wait for the real deal......
David
Man, when I went to sleep last night, all I could see was rabbits darting through the brush.
Come onnnnnnnnn, February!!!
:bigsmyl:
It sound like the question is, how much blood are we willing to shed to get the opportunities that pushing with you will give us.
Just got back from going out again. I brung along Molly and Max, we had a blast!! I jumped 7 and got 9 shots! Nothing real easy but got hair on one. One was in the large square tubing by the airport. I flushedhim out, stood up and shot just as he stopped. Nocked another arrow and as I was drawing Max sa him and away he went.I hit him going away and Maxpulled the arrow out!! He holed up by the horses!! 45 minutes and lots of action!! The kids should do well!! Shawn
Shawn- I don't know about having a partner in every brush pile, but I want to be in the thick of it when you push for the kids cuz win or lose the more bunnies for the kids the better.
-Matt
AND- if it can't be the Steelters... then it might as well be the Colts. Who are the Jets again??? :jumper:
shawn i just like to thank you for opening up your home for all us guys to come and huntit was a great warm up, i guess the best partwas getting my first rabbit!!! after last year chasing one through the brush with my arrow in it until it fell out after 10 yards and the bunnie putting it in hi gear and vaporizing those bunnies are tough. To Tyler sorrie i kept saying to take your time and pick a spot but it was great fun watching you shoot kevin
Sorry to chime in late but I think I'm still in recovery,
Shawn Cindy and all the other guests at this Hunt, THANK YOU!!!! I had a blast , met some awesome people and shot 4 times. I manage to lose 5 arrows 2 at rabbits and 3 while trying to navigate the thick. Sometimes its whatcha gotta do..
Sorry Jaime for losing your lucky arrow, maybe someone will find it and it'll be lucky for them.
Shawn Next time I say a bunny is gonna run out of a bush get ready, you should know that.
Even though I missed while trying to finish Curt's rabbit I impressed myself with how well I could weave an arrow through the brush. I shot in the exact same spot twice only an inch high but managed to weave it through a 3 inch opening. Then Homer was able to reach and finish the Bunny! I saw more bunnies in a few hours than I did in 4 years of rabbit hunting.
I'll push 2 out of every 3 drives once I get brush pants.
Thanks again Shawn, And everyone else for the memorable good time!
Charles, PM me!! I have a pair of brush pants that should fit ya!! You are close enough that we can hunt anytime. If ya want to get together this week just let me know!! Cindy wants to Thank all you guys for bringing food and drinks and being such good house guests!! An awesome time was had by all except the bunnies!! See ya'all soon!! Charles what did ya think of the video? OOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn
Charles, Take Shawn up on that! You'll get more shooting action at rabbits with him in a season, than most would in a lifetime!
Wish I lived closer to hunt more with him....guess I'll just have to make it happen more often!!
Next month is gonna be fun!!!
Guys I had to post this!! I came home this afternoon and it was brutal cold with the wind!! I looked out back around 4:45 and Guess what I saw?? Spread out from the horse pasture to my shed and over by the plane, no less than 7 bunnies!! I was tempted but figured they will still be there in a month and a bit. Me and Meat are gonna give it a go after work tomorrow, I have to get that boy a kill!! OOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Shawn
Only in Selkirk....... :bigsmyl:
