Do most of you hunt with a quiver on you bow or a backpack/other type?I am deciding if I want a quiver on my bow?Give me your reasons for either..thank you Ricky
Back quiver I can't stand anything on my bow and I think it Looks real cool!
I hunt with the quiver on the bow. I like the additional mass weight and the convience for access to the arrows.
If I am hunting small game, I hunt with a stalking type quiver...If I am hunting deer or hogs etc quiver on the bow...
My favorite is the cat quiver but if I'm carry in a tree stand I go to the bow quiver.
I have my quiver mounted on the bow. I like back quivers but not for hunting. I have a Great Northern Quick Mount Quiver.
The only quiver I haven't tried is a back quiver. Plains, Vista and a bolt on selway for my recurve. I perfer the selway over the others. I usually have a back back on when I hunt so a back quiver would be out of the question for me.
I have tried just about all of them, back quiver, catquiver, sidequiver, bowquiver. I keep coming back to the bowquiver because it is the best for me big game hunting. It simply does the best job. I use a backquiver for rabbit or squirrel.
I think you can gather all of our opinions and it's not gonna tell you what will or won't work for you. I'm afraid you'll have to do what a lot of have had to do... try a bunch of stuff til the "right thing" for you comes along then you'll know what works.
My 2 cents worth and this too is just an opinion..lol
God bless,Mudd
I have tried a lot of quivers, but the handiest way to carry arrows is with a bow quiver. I don't always like them, especially if the bow is heavy enough without it, but it's still the easiest way. I won't say it's the best way, but I haven't found a better way yet. I usually have to carry my treestand in and out as I hunt public land mostly and back, side or other quivers aren't convenient.
My quiver,a bolt on is attached to the side of my back pack.

On the bow, because it is more convenient for me.
Ive used them all. Hands down best IMO is a cat quiver, the smaller one so I don't take the hole camp with me. plus I put a single arrow first shot holder on my bow.>>>--------->
You may find, like I did, that a bow quiver will work for you on some bows, and on others it may cause torque issues. I finally have a bow that I can shoot as well with the quiver on as I can with it off. For my Hill bows it's a no brainer - back quiver! I actually love using a back quiver more now that I have one that works like it should! You will have to try them yourself, as others said, to see which you like best.

I've used just about everything out there and so far I can say that my favorite is Rod Jenkins' Safari Tuff quiver-a great product!

Selway Leather bow quiver on my recurve
Yea, bow quiver for me too. Everything right there in one package...just grab the bow and go.

Any quiver is a compromise. I've been using a GN strap on with my longbows for many years. It works best for me. I plan to try a GFA type, but I doubt that I'll give up on my bow quiver.
i have always had a quiver on my longbows to help with shock. i have been using a dawgware with my recurve and love it.
i recently got a game plan gear spot n stalk pack and ordered a vortxx quiver to go with it. it is a nice pack with a ton of pockets. the quiver is nice. it is small and light, but not made to hold traditional heads. some of the larger heads are fairly long and the head of the quiver is not that deer. the end results are a silced finger. i cut the tip of my thumb off this wee--the first time i used it!!! gonna see if i can get a quiver made for me. check out the packs--any quiver can be mounted to the side of them.
I use to take quiver off bow. then I bought a 4 arrow mini-boa quiver. and can't tell its even there when shooting.
You can...as many have said try all kinds. If you find one particular type you like, rather than buying it make it or trade for it if you don't wanna buy.
I just received my GN longbow quiver from Preacherman and so far I really like it.
