My wife gave me a check and a note that said I should take it and go to Bass Pro to get the new hat I wanted to go with my HH Big 5.
I wish I could remember the name of it, that's not gonna happen right at the moment. It is a brimmed hat with a similar look to that worn by Fred Bear and its crush-able.
I have a mental image of myself walking thru the woods.....My Bow, a full back quiver, wool vest, mocs and this very cool hat.
I couldn't have been given a better gift by my wife than a positive self image of myself as a well attired bow hunter.
Merry Christmas!
God bless,Mudd
PS I also got some arrows and notice that I would receive some seal skin for arrow rests and B-50 string material. All of these items are coming from members of my Trad-gang family.

New pair of Lacrosse 1200 boots, UnderArmor Coat...and unless she sees the cash missing from her stash a Bob Lee Elite longbow.
My best gift was speding time w/ our church friends last night and having a young lady that has never experienced what a family does on Christmas morning stay w/ us last night. 25 years old and she cried over a stocking of goodies we put together for her. Sharing and opening your heart and house was actually a gift to our family.

Brought the best gift of all,Childrens laughter and time spent with the family!!!
A 50" Plasma TV. I have no idea how he got that down the chimney.
I almost never ask for anything; traditionally our gift buying involves mostly buying for our kids. Besides, my wife always says that I have everything I need or want - hunting wise, so she doesn't know what to get me. This year she did manage to surprise me with a copy of Dick Lattimer's book "Hunt with Fred Bear". There's also a rumour circulating that my daughter is giving me the entire Fred Bear DVD collection!
God sent me his Son, gave me my family, and healed me from my illness. Plus, among many other blessings, I will be spending New Year's Day at the Solana Ranch with a bunch of wonderful TradGangers. It doesn't get any better than that! Praise God and Christ our Savior. God bless all of you this Christmas Day. Remember the reason for the season. :clapper:

Boy, White Oak, can I relate to your situation. I spotted a light draw Hill for sale last night and just had no interest in it! Guess I've crossed over to builder rather than buyer.
As to Christmas, I just completed my first take down hinged longbow and then early this week converted another. My Christmas was a "coupon" from my wife, good for buying five more hinges. Should keep me having lots of fun next year!
trail cam here!

Life is GOOD!!!!
Like others have said, I got the joy of watching my three kids jump on their new indoor trampoline all day.
I hit the jack pot!I got a safety harness vest, KME broadhead sharpening kit, a GPS unit, a Ron LaClair wool shirt, and hunting socks. So materially, I did really well, but the most important thing was that my family was together and we are all healthy. And despite the economy, we are making out all right.Christmas is fun, and we all enjoy our goodies, but let's not forget the real importance of this day. Amidst the fun and fellowship don't forget to say a prayer of thanks for that Silent Night so very long ago.
One of my best Christmas' ever, my Mom got to spend the day with her family at home. She hasn't been home since mid August. She had heart surgery, and they repaired two valves in her heart.....and replaced one.
It's been a long row for her to hoe. There were times when I was in doubt if she would EVER step foot in her house again.
God is GOOD........and prayer WORKS !!!
My Dad, took her back about 7:30 this evening. She has came a long way, but still needs more physical therapy.
I am sooooooooooooooo very thankful.

I need to go back and check my notes to see what it is I did last year so I can do it again!
Lets see, I got some snow camo covers(pant and coat), new range finder, meat slicer, and a Asbell wool pull over from my mom. I didn't think my mom was going to be able to get any of the asbell wool but she did, man I love this pull over and will be ordering more soon!
I hope everyone has a great and safe Christmas!
I sure did.

Santa didn't bring much, but my Mother-In-Law surprised me with an amazing leather back quiver she hand stitched.
Outstanding. I can't wait to try it out.
To top it off, my wife bought me several season of Dexter. I'm a happy man.
I got the Wenzel's new books. Only bad part, is they are still in the mail. That's what I get for living in Canada. Canada post is slooow this time of year. Can't wait to read them.
Happy New Year
Darren
Two dozen Arrows Easton 500s from the wife and my son got me some camo stuff. The best was having my son here instead of over there some place. First Christmas home for him in few years.
I have enjoyed reading about the gifts offers receive, both material and spiritual. There has been some humor thrown in, too. My wife gave me $20.00 for a bow! I was touched by her sentiment.
Three pairs of Bean ragg wool hunting socks, toe and hand warmer 10-packs, a pint of real maple syrup, and a wireless router for my new laptop. Now I can log on while watching TV, with warm feet on a sugar high! The American Dream come true.
My ex wife gave me a $200.00 gift card to a local sporting goods store. Whats up with that.
My son got his first recurve and my daughter a guitar. My gift will be the time spent teaching them how to use their gifts :)
Gift card for bookstore from my mom, even though I am old enough to have my own grandkids. Cash from my wife to go into my bow fund. A wine vinturi.
The best was seeing the responses from my wife and son when they opened there gifts. Then the responses when I remembered there was more gift's that I forgot about later in the day. I also got to have a little helper use his first tools to put things together.
Dave
The Bear DVD set from the Mrs., a new folding knife from the boy, and a phone call on Christmas eve from my daughters that said, "We're on our way"!!
That was a big surprise for me, and they spent most of Christmas with us as well. The look on my son's face when he opened up his new guitar was priceless.
I was lucky enough to harvest a PA bear this year. My brother made me this plaque for the report card.

A VERY Happy and Surprised GrandDaughter!! She is My Treasure!! :notworthy: :notworthy: :archer:
A trip to the emergency room. 8 yr old daughter had just come in to wake mom and dad up. She and her little brother (3yrs) where looking through their gifts from Santa and noticed a collar for her dog. (the one gift "Santa" forgot to cut all straps from). Before I knew it, I hear her yelling from the kitchen. Managed to cut the end of her finger completely off just missing the nail bed. Wild morning to say the least, but she did manage to open the rest of her gifts before heading off to the emergency room.
Happy New Year to All!!!
Rusty
Gift to myself new long bow. My kids gave me money to pay for the deer mount an buck I shot this year.
Santa is making payments on a '65 Bear Kodiak so a couple of more and it's mine.
We had 20 family members for dinner last night including the 5 grandchildren and my healthy, active 94 year old mother. She actually helped my wife chip ice when I went to the store. All family members got along this year which was an improvement over last year so that was my gift.
Canon 70-200 L 2.8 IS USM Lens to go with my Canon 5D MK 2..................
Santa got me a KME broadhead sharpener and a Kathy Kelly Take down bow case. I can't sharpen broadheads to save my life but I here KME is all that. Will be trying is soon.

Santa was good to me this year. I got a Lone Wolfe tree stand, a set of climbing sticks and the best part. A Dale Dye End of Trails recurve.
I must have been a good boy. I got a new day pack from my kids. My brother bought me some new insulated waterproof boots from Cabelas. My wife got me several merino wool sweaters, and "Santa" brought me a new main beam flashlight and a signed copy of "One With The Wilderness".
My wife laughs at me cuz I take that flashlight everywhere. Somebody wouldn't turn off their brights last night and I threatened to strobe 'em.
I did not get anything for hunting this year so sad for me lol. Widow
I received a Garmin vista Hcx GPS. My son says it will do all that the 60Csx does but without the external antenna and added expense. It's a more compact unit(I don't know I'm a compass man myself).
But the best thing I received was being able to have Christmas morning with my Grandson who turns 2 in February.
Man I must have been good this year I opened a box and the contents inside shocked me. There was a brand new Striker Take down recurve in there. All I can say is that my wife must really love me.

A great trad ganger (Jerry Wald). Gave me a great gift from a drawing a half dozen arrows that are being custom made from one of our sponsors of this site. They will be here in a few weeks. Once I get them I will post pictures.
Sean
Sandy Claws graced me with some new 14" Russell High Country Hunter boots with 200 gram thinsulate. Fit like gloves rite outta the box. I will be ordering another pair as spares next week. Also some new marino wool boot socks to go along with. 20 years and she still suprising me, Bless the woman in our lives! Jason
Well, I got a bunch of Cabellas gift certificates and went yesterday and bought a Lone Wolf hand climber tree stand.
Nice stand but I'm pretty disappointed with the lack of paperwork on how to hook up all the straps. Isn't really anything there other than some real basic stuff and nothing about the rope, harness, shoulder straps or any of that. There is a DVD but it won't play in my DVD or my computer. What's the deal with that????
Dave you can go to their web site and watch some video on just about all of their products. I bought an Alpha and was trying to back back my mini sticks. No video or instructions for it on line. An e-mail to them and a day later I was ready to go.
A cruise to the Carribean in February, may not be shooting related but will help with my attitude towards winter doldrums.
My wife conspired with 4runr to provide me with a 1959 Bear Grizzly for Christmas. This is my first traditional bow, and therefore I am a newbie to the sport and this site. I am really looking forward to learning and growing in traditional archery. I have to thank 4runr, and my wife! This Site is wonderful. I have learned so much in just a few days.
ceme24 welcome to the journey! My wife got me carpentry tools. I think it was a hint.
Gift card for Bass Pro Shops. I will have to go thru the catalog and see what I "need".
