Without becoming too technical, whats the difference between the Wenzel broadhead and the snuffer?
Snuffer has a bigger cutting diameter.
Woodsmans have a leaner, smaller profile and will generally fly and penetrate better. Snuffers are a bit stronger and cut bigger holes.
Snuffers have a steeper angle on the blades to get them to the larger cutting dia. All above is true.
Woodsman has a much better blade angle IMO.
They both make big nasty holes in deer, leave blood trails Ray Charles could follow, but neither one penetrates as well as a two blade. There are always compromises. I haven't found the perfect broadhead yet. Either one of these two will do the job very well if you do your part...true of almost every broadhead. I've killed deer with both, had great, short blood trails with both. A shot to the lungs with either one equals a dead deer...period.
Just like trading snd shooting different bows, I've killed quite a few deer with several different types of broadheads, ie snuffer, zwickey, bear razorheads, wolverines etc. I've always had real good luck getting snuffers to fly great out of a variety of bows. With the narrower profile woodsman should tune pretty easy. Thanks for the info.
My two Favorite BH's! Both great for getting a lot of blood on the ground.
If using a lighter weight bow or hunting something a little harder to penetrate than deer like critters.
Like big boar hogs or elk, I choose the WW.
For everything else I pretty much use a big ol' Snuffer!
Add to that the VPA Terminators(Woodsman Elite thru 3 Rivers). I really like the unvented version of those. Machined out of one pc. of steel and very quiet in flight.
