I want to apply a crown dip to my Heritage Carbon Express arrows. My question is what combination of paint/glue works best. Do you use spray paint or dip tubes. I don't have as much experience with carbons as I do wood. Or could you please direct me to a previous thread that addresses this subject. Thanks and most importantly, Have a Merry Christmas.
Arrow Hunter: Here is a picture of a carbon arrow I made probably 6 years ago. The picture is a little over exposed but its the best I can do with my camera.

I wipped the shaft down several times with acetone before I dipped. I full dipped the shaft in Bohning's white. I hunted alot in the quakies at that time, so I thought camo arrows were necessary. So, my crown dip of home brew flat pale green Aspen bark paint went over the Bohning's. Then the cresting. Finally the fletching with fletching tape. They have held up quite well, although I don't shoot them anymore.

I haven't dipped carbons in quite a while. The last set I did was a dozen Axis and I used Bohning....worked great. Before that I was making and playing with Carbon Express and AD's. For them I found that a poly based enamel worked extremely well and I could even fletch with Duco. It's been a while so I am not sure if the finishes on carbons have changed much but if I were to do it again I think I would just invest in the Bohning and fletch with some sort of gel type super glue. With the Bohning you just know it is going to adhere if you do it right. Arrow wraps do not have a great appeal for me so I just don't use them.
I tape mine and spray on krylon

Gangstarr,
Nice arrows! What cut are the pink fletchings in the last pic?

i made that shape myself
guess its a mix of a banna/shield/t-hawk
i love my youngs burner!!
I really like the shape of those...Guess I got to invest in a young burner ...I noticed 3 rivers or Kustum King had that profile in there cat. for a feather chopper...Has anyone ever used the chopper with that profile?
kinda reminded me of the t-hawk. Pretty cool!
