I maybee buying a new bow?? I was wondering since I am shooting about 51 pounds, is going up to a 55# bow would be too much weight or should I stay at what I am comfortable shooting! I think Its probley ok, but just want some advice from someone who knows more than I do !lol Thanks and merry christmas..
i just bought a new bow myslef and aske pretty much the same question from most i heard that a 5lb jump wouldnt be to much of course have to work yoru way into it some also felt that a 10 lb jump is doable depending on the situation i dont think you woudl have a problem going to 55 i myself decided on a five pound jump cant wait to see my new bow and i just made the order
Thanks bowmaster12 , Thats kinda what I thought but? Also would I need to change arrows if I went with a 55lb bow, or use what I am useing now, witch is a 55/75 gt xt hunter carbon shaft weighing 480 grs Thanks
im pretty much a rookie at this stuff so others can offer more insight but i think you would be fine with that same set up
My belief is that those arrows will fly perfectly with the extra 4 lbs.
One of the worst things you can do is shoot to much weight and get bad form.. What you will kill with 55 lbs. I will bet you will also kill with 51 lbs.
Yep, bahrzoo, I agree! I shoot well with my setup and am good with the weight, maybee I'll just stick with my same poundage??Just am thinking about the 55# ? Thanks
If you are shooting 51 pounds now, why do you want to go to 55? Are you looking at an existing bow, or do you have a choice? I agree with Bahrzoo, 51 pounds will kill anything a 55 pound will. Going to 55 punnds is more a personal choice.
As far as the arrows go you will probably be allright, but not necessarily.
Are you going to a longer bow, or shorter bow?
Are you going to a bow that is cut to the same dimension from center? Lots to consider.
Beware the man who shoots one bow.
