Out of these three, what material do you like best & why...crown,diamondback or fastflight?
ttt..anybody have an opinion? Looking for the best material that has the least amount of slippage,(sliding up & down the string)
I haven't tried crown. Used diamondback once, didn't like it because the outer sheath pulled loose when I tied it off. I use a little bit of FF serving, not too crazy about it.
My favorite serving is 62XS from BCY.
Chad
I personally like the BCY #62 serving material. My experience is that it seems to outlast the string.
I haven't tried crown, but use diamondback and FF quite a bit. I prefer the diamondback; lays flat, slick and durable. I haven't had issues with the outer sheath pulling loose?
Oh yeah, the #62 gets used a bunch too... kind of a toss up between it and the diamondback for me.
I use alot of different servings,No 62 in .018,.021 and .025,diamondback,3D and Halo.I use many different diameter servings to get the nock fit I'm looking for.
Diamondback seems to be popular around here, but I've never tried it. Out of the three on your list, the only one I have firsthand experience with is Fastflight, and I could never get it to not slip around.
Personally I use BCY #62 or Polygrip.
i think i've tried just about everything out there in serving land ... hand's down, for me it's BCY Halo - man, that stuff is tough 'n' fairly slick slick.
Where do you buy Halo?
Crown and Halo for me. Both are super slick for a great release.
BCY manufactures/sells Halo.
I only tried the diamondback once--maybe I had a bad spool.
I like Halo also--very slick, very tough, but it's more prone to slipping than 62XS--especially is you use a large diameter serving on a tiny string. It's not bad, just doesn't lock in as good as the 62.
Chad
Tried quite a few servings as everyone else has.
What we found is that Diamondback was more abrasive on tabs and gloves than most. Not a good clean release.
Halo was our second choice very slick but I agree with Chad was prone to slipping on the string and hard to double serve.
Our first choice is Brownells Crown serving. We tested it in various weather conditions and seemed to give us the best release cold, hot, wet or dry. Locks up very tight, very slick, and durable. Comes in 3 sizes to accomodate different serving diameters.
We are using it till we find something better.
God Bless, Pierre and Jean-Pierre
I,ve only used the Diamondback and never had any problems, make sure you wrap it so it gets tighter with the twisting of the string.
Halo only for me,I get mine from Keystone country store.Probably one of the sponsors here also carry it
I've used crown, diamondback and FF of the three I prefer FF. It is slick and the most durable serving that I've ever used. Never tried halo before but the FF lasts so long I probable won't ever need too either. dino

That was my experience with Halo as well -- prone to slippage. Like Fastflight, I couldn't get rid of it fast enough. One slipped serving was one too many. I was only glad that I noticed it while stump shooting instead of with a broadhead on my arrow and a deer downrange.
