Title: 3D rules question
Post by: Cherokee Scout on December 20, 2009, 07:40:00 PM
Do the 3D events in your area allow shooting from elevated rests? If not, do they allow target risers with flat shelves that have built up to be shot? If they do not allow elevated rests, why? what is the logic?

I have never been to one that didn't allow elevated rests.

I have never been to one that did allow elevated rest if you were planning on turning in your score.

Our shoots say they must be shot from the shelf. If you are going to use a rest you have to shoot barebow division(no sights, compound).
BTW, Cherokee, i LOVE that little Backpacker:)  Bill

Hi Bill.....what is the logic behind the rule?
Is there some type of advantage to shooting off the elevated rest as opposed to the shelf?
Glad you like the bow.

John, i do not know the logic behind the rule. It is a rule that is ENVER enforced, so i am not sure why it's stated. I don't give a rats' hiney what ya shoot, as long as ya are having fun shooting it  :)   Bill
P.S i did get ahold of Lonnie , and he is going to camo my Selway slipon quiver in the same camo as the bow  :)

Most shoots around here do not have a rule prohiting them as long as it is not a mechanical devise.
