Title: recurve riser length question
Post by: Mike Bolin on December 20, 2009, 07:30:00 PM
This is most likely the silliest question I have asked on here! How do you measure the length of a takedown riser? End to end? Alignment pin to alignment pin? Bolt hole to bolt hole? I don't know if there is a standard way to measure or if it varies from bowyer to bowyer. Several bowyers offer different length risers, 15", 17" 19" and so on and others go by model like Widow, PMA, PSA and a new shorter one that I don't know the name of. Any insight is appreciated and thanks! Mike

I am shooting a Timberhawk recurve right now. Made by a bowyer here in Indiana. I had one a few years back, but traded it off for something else that I "had to have"!. I picked this one up at a very good price and the riser/grip fits me better than the other one I traded........and I liked it pretty well! Scott at Timberhawk is offering three riser lengths and if I contacted him about extra limbs later on, I wanted to be sure I was giving him the proper riser dimension. Thanks again, Mike
