Are you asking for best material? D-97 would be my suggestion.

For maker? I would get a hold of oliverstacy(sponsers classifieds or chad weaver(recurves.com)

No you don't need to get an original Martin string.D97 is my favorite and there are some good stringmakers here in the sponsor's classifieds.

Josh Sowerby sells strings on this forums classifieds under the name oliverstacy.  I have bought a couple of his strings and would highly
recommend him.  Easy to deal with, answers your questions, fast service, lots of colors and string materials.  Can't go wrong with Josh!
