Hey guys anyone interested in going out for NJ Winter Bow? We've done this the past 2 years and have had a great time with some cool folks.
Im in when and where!
What is NJ Winter Bow?
NJ is New Jersey and winter bow is in January and it's our late bow season.
Count Me In Larry!
... mike ... :archer: ...
It's held in the Delaware water gap area... Watch out for the bears..
Larry, is there a spot for Me there?
Sal there is always a spot for you.
Larry, I'm hoping to make it out with the gang at least once this year. I'll be doing alot of walking since it's been a LONG time since I shot a bow. I see the doctor on Monday - hopefully he'll give me the OK to start shooting again.
Thanx Larry, But I won't be able to make it this Year. I'm hoping for 2011 or 2012 NJ Winter bow
If I can circumventilate some free time I'd like to coagulate with you good folks! Larry check out NJ Trad Archers thread down below. Mikey Bamboo started something going as well. bentpole>>>>~~~~~>

Larry, when is this hunt? Are you sure that there are deer in New Jersey? I'm interested to find out, never hunted there before.
Sal, bears should be sleeping by now. Along with the Ticks. :saywhat: It snowed here yesterday into the night. We have 6 to 8"'s of snow on the ground Bud. Do you miss it? :goldtooth: :biglaugh: If there's anyone interested do a Google Satellite of Deleware National Recreation Area or Sandyston Township N.J. and/or Walpack. That will give you an idea of the Area we usually Drive. From where the Flatbrook goes into the Deleware to the Milford Bridge Rt 206. New Jersey is broken into Hunting Zones. New Jersey Winter Bow in some zones we can hunt into the second week of February. By that time it's starting to get down right balmy again.
Adirondackman we still have deer in jersey it's just easier to use the car on them then the bow. When you use the bow they magically disappear.I see more deer on my way to where I hunt then when I'm in my stand...LOL
Let me know the dates. I would like to help you guys drive that one deer :biglaugh: that beds down in that area. Hopefully he doesn't swim the river and end up back in Pa.
We have tons of deer in jersey,it's not our fault people mistake them for foxes, being around the same size and all...LOL

I'm heading down first week of Jan to buy my licenses....Ciccone will probably be getting his also after the Holidays.
I will be keeping my eye on this thread. If I am able to make one of the dates you pick I would love to come shoot and meet up with you guys.
Used to do the same thing every year with a bunch of traditional guys, we would camp in the enclosed lean to's in Stokes and hunt that whole area.
Are you guys staying a few days or doing day trips?
Ron you are welcome to join us. Now if we can figure when we want to do this.
We usually do this on day trips but since we can bow hunt Sundays now who knows.
4 weekends!!!
Now you guys got me thinking about this, wife is going to kill me.........
David
My days off are Wed/Thur/Fri and every other Sat. So I can make every other Sat when the Jersey Boys start their drives. Mid week will find me stillhunting or sitting.....with my buddy Bamboo...
Depending on the date if im not stuck working and you guys welcome another set of legs id take the ride out also!
Do you guys have room for a New Yorker? What does a nonresident license cost?
Non resident bow and arrow is $135.50 and you get to pay tons of tolls and taxed on everything you buy or think of buying...LOL

Not a terrible deal on a nonresident license, and it is good for a calendar year. Much longer deer season here in NJ. If you get a license, you should come down for the early season as well. Starts in early september. I won't be here in NJ next season, but there are alot of better qualified guys who could show you some good spots.
My license was FedEx'ed to me last week. :jumper: Now if the weather holds out for the ride out there... Being able to hunt on Sunday is a good thing.
... mike ...
I would like to make it. When and where?
Folks, Mr Showtime [Tony] is an long time family friend. Got him started this summer.Bought an Allegheny Mountain Bow custom made off Jeff. Hooked him up with the right arrows and such. Wacked a doe during the permit seson with the stick. I think we can find a spot for him right fellas? :goldtooth:
Talk on the NJ forum about this coming weekend. Who's in?

LMAO......I think that applies to other places as well as NJ!!!!!
how much snow have you guys got on the ground. Any info would be helpful. Thanks Greg
Tradesman4 only a dusting. Where the Gangers are hunting tomorrow probably only 3 to 4. If that much. We had an inch or two fall early this morning. Might be a little noisey with the crunchy snow. :banghead: Gangers you guys have to get together men! :archer: That's right Mikey just came out of surgery for cryin' out loud. He made it!!! Remember? :clapper: We had pictures to prove it.It's worth it just to see the waitresses at Jumboland! :goldtooth:
Don't make me drive all the way out there just to be alone. Well, I keep thinking "waitress" and that's worth the trip.
See Ya At Jumboland!
... mike ...

I will get out and hunt somewhere Sunday morning Mikey!!! I'll give you a shout tomorrow eve. GOOD LUCK FOLKS!!!! Put One down! Somebody please. I won't be there to give you folks bad luck. BUCKY is incapacitated [whew spelling] hurt he's back at work big time.
Any News to report Folks???
ttt
Went out yesterday with Bamboo, mcgroundstalker, and southpawshooter. First couple of drives, there was fresh deer sign in the snow everywhere, but more fresh coyote sign. I think they ran the deer out of there overnight. The next drive looked good, in some thick stuff near standing corn. Lot's of fresh tracks, but the small game hunters beat us there and we didn't see anything. Next spot had as many fresh human tracks as deer, at least where I was. I think the muzzleloading guys had hit that. Got to a spot to sit for the late afternoon and kicked a few deer out on the way in. Nobody saw anything during the sit. Just some bad timing, overall. That's the way it goes sometimes. I couldn't hunt today, but I think that the other guys and Vaughn were going out. Lot's of deer sign, so I hope the run into a couple.
Thanks for the report Patrick! I had the alarm set for 4 AM went off left Mike a message went back to sleep. Woke up at 8 AM. After working 6 days and 9 hours yesterday I guess I needed the rest. Must be gettin' old. How did we do today Folks?
Oh, sound like I need to make a trip out there to meet the waitress at Jumbo Land...
How long in February does winter bow go for???????????????????????????????????
:readit: :saywhat:
For 2 weeks. It's only in a few zones though Mitchell.
Man I miss that part of the world and Jumboland. Wish I was closer and could get away to hunt it with you guys. Hope to see you all at the JLMBH.
