well here it is, it turned out fairly decent. it could have been worse, but it could have been better. i doubled the hide everywhere except the front pouch/pocket and the overhanging flap. i lined the inside with a generic fleece type cloth that i cut from a pull over i had(don't tell my wife). the arrows i have in there are really long and since it's just sitting there they seem to be sticking out alot, but when i had it on the feathers were just touching the top. i'm sure it'll hold at least 6 arrows, more than enough, but possibly more. the top has a bendable piece of metal so you can adjust the top opening to be any shape you like. i decided to put the same wood burned skull on it as the armguard i made so it's kind of like a set :) . hope you all like it... Jay

Wow , nice work.
Fine work.......you are going to get inquiries about doing more!
Great job Jay! I love the color of the leather. Looks nice and soft too.
Very nice work. You might try speedometer cable inside the top instead of the bendable metal. It is very springy and won't take a set. You would have to use a leather lace as an arrow divider and pull the top into an oval shape that you like. It comes in .130 .150 .187 diameters and can be found at most heavy truck parts houses. The .130 is automotive size. .150 is the most common.
i'd use it! i like the "demon deer" on it

it's not really a demon skull :) , just used a little tribal art mixed with an actual buck skull. it does look a little evil, not the intended purpose though. but i do like the way it turned out, had it been a drawing vs. a wood burnt pic, it would have been alot more detailed and i would have done an actual realistic skull. wood burning only allows for a certain amount of detail, especially on something of that size. if it was bigger, say 10 inches by 10 inches, i could have been more precise. 2 or 3 inches by 3 is more difficult though :)
great job! It almost makes me want to try a back quiver again...
relly good work, and nice looking

Man, you have some talent! Great job on that one.
thanks everyone, i'm thinking about making a round quiver, open on top and a side opening. not sure what that design is called but i have a decent idea of how to pull it off. got jerky to make today and Christmas stuff and packer game on sunday, so i'll probly start it on monday, hopefully finish it by tuesday. if all goes as planed i'll post it up when i'm don. i may end up making some other stuff first though. i want to make 2 cases, 1 for my new bow that i'll have in a few days, 1 for my dads recurve, some string holders and a bow stringer. haven't totally decide whats next, but whatever i make i'll share with you all, thanks again for your great support :) Jay
That's a good lookin quiver! Awesome job!!

hunterace, would you consider a build a long on a quiver like you just made? I think it turned out well.
Looks great! I have yet to make mine, I have the tools and the leather, just gotta dive in one of these days!

possibly after i have done a few more. this one looks good, but there are many things i'll do different next time. i want to try out some other quiver types too. if i make the same kind of quiver more than 2 times i could do something like that. i would have to change how i go about making stuff too :) . with my art background, i sort of just wing it when it comes to stuff like this. not too much measuring or blue prints to go by. i look at something like a quiver and just sort of unfold it in my head and then cut stuff out and put it back together. let me get a few more things under my belt and then i may do something like that
Congrats,I would like to be half as good as you,I really love it.
i'm getting alot of ?'s on the color of the quiver, it's an acorn color and the brand of dye is Eco-Flo. i bought it at hobby lobby, i know that fiebings is the brand i've seen the most about on the net, but the eco-flo was at the store where i got some other stuff i needed. i'm assuming that fiebings makes a color similar to what i used but i'm not positive. i also didn't use an even application when i dyed it so it would have a different, broken up, camo ish look.
i'm starting a new one tomorrow, going to be a different style so it'll be my first again, will post pics when it's finished, should be in a few days
Take a look at the thread??? it's about back quivers. There's a quiver that hangs on your back like a back quiver but operates like a side quiver. The difference is if you're a right handed shooter you have to wear it as if you were left handed so the arrow can be removed from the bottom. It look like the best of two worlds. But having never done more than see a picture I can't be sure.
I was wondering how difficult it would be to convert a back quiver to one?
Thanks!
God bless,Mudd

that's the kind i'm making, i'm not sure what it's called. it does go on your back, and you will be able to remove or put in the arrows from the top, but in the field you can simply pull an arrow out the side of it. i have an idea how to make it, just have to give it a shot now
God bless,Mudd
awsome looking back quiver. Widow
Looks like a winner to me - nice job!

Great Job you did...
Nice work.
Did you put any wire at the top to keep the openeing from closing up on you? or did you use a different method?

yes i put a metal wire of some sort in the top. it's not as stiff as a cloths hanger so you can form it to whatever shape opening you like. it's some wire i had from some other craft stuff when i was making clay sculptures, it worked out well
