Anyone have one?
Thanks in advance!
Search the directory for Tom Mussatto he is a guy who knows and has many Hill's.he can help you
You can look on http://www.HowardHillShooters.com ,they have quite a few pictures in their showcase.
Check out Howard Hill Shooters. PLenty of pictures. I don't have a gray Hill, but I do have a gray Sunset Hill that I'd be happy to take a couple of pics for you. It's a similar style of bow, should give you an idea of how it would look.
Kevin
Thanks guys! Dick doesn't have any pics of ones with the grey glass on his site.
Kevin, I would really appreciate some pics of your Sunset Hill. My bow from Nate is due around May. I talked with him last week about the specs and was trying to decide on the glass color for the back of the bow.
OK. I'll get a couple up this afternoon. This is one that was Nate's personal bow, but I got it from another person. I was ambivalent at first on the gray glass, but it's grown on me. I'm sure a lot of that has to do with the way it shoots, SWEEEEETT!!
Kevin
Sounds great Kevin. I really aprreciate it!!
I am leaning toward clear glass with the caramelized bamboo.
Curt
Curt,
What is caramelized bamboo?
I believe caramalized Bamboo has been flamed with a torch or something, kind of like caramelizing sugar. However it's done it gives a beautiful dark color! I have two of Nate's bows due around spring time, and they'll both have the caramelized lams on the back. I've never seen any done better!

Curt,
The gray 'glass on a Sunset Hill is a tad lighter than on a Howard Hill. Here's the Sunset hill on the left and a '58 Bear Alaskan on the right.

Here's the carmelized belly under clear 'glass.

Carmelizing is also a form of heat treating, makes the bamboo a little "quicker" to recover. 80% of the bamboo rods I make are "flamed", similar to the carmelized, but taken a bit further. You sweep the bamboo with a propane torch, before you remove any rind or nodes.
Here's a pic of one:

Nice lookin' bows fellas. I like the looks of that gray glass on that Hill. Maybe for my next one.
Thanks for taking the time to post the pics guys! I think I will go with the clear on my Sunset Hill, that carmelized bamboo is beautiful.
