Would an Easton XX78 be a good choice for my setup?
50# @ 28" Recurve.
I'm drawing back 26-1/2", so I figure I'm pulling about 44-45 pounds.
Also, what point weight with these arrows would be recommended?
Thanks.
I think that they would be to stiff. Hap
I too think it might be alittle stiff,a 2114 is slightly stiffer then a 2016 with a spine of .510 deflection. They can work if left longer and maybe a heavier point weight.
Thanks guys !!!!
I'm shooting a 2016 .531 deflection with the same set up as you describe, the 2114 will work just make your arrows 28.5 or 29" with a 125 point and have a good release. I have used them successfully.
i shoot 2117 with a 50# recurve at 28" and with a 125gr. head they fly perfectly and i only draw about 26-27"
I shoot a Martin Hunter thats 50#@ 28" but my draw is 28 also. I shoot a 2114 cut to 29" with a 145 grn. head, shoots like a lazer! run that through Stu's calculator and you can see its right on the money. A 2016 cut to 29" with a 125 point shoots to the same place. to make a 2117 work with that bow you need a 31" arrow with 145 grns. up front.Thats what works for me anyway? For 44-45# you might want to drop down to a 1916?
