Title: Fur Quiver
Post by: jamesh76 on December 15, 2009, 03:06:00 PM
For those of you that have experimented with adding fur to a plastic quiver. What type of adhensive do you use?

Do you wet the leather/fur to get it to contour to the hood of the quiver before putting it on?

Any pictures?

Thanks,
James

I never done it But I can tell you that you need to rough up the finish on plastic and Duoco or Barge cement works great on leather just as is the plastic has to be roughed up or glue will not take.

I added deer fur to a selway hood.  It is from the first buck I took with that bow.  I used Gorilla glue.  Scuff the hood and wet it.  Then apply a thin layer of glue to the hood and hide.  Put them togather and wrap a string around it several times in various directions to secure it and let it sit.  It is wise to use the top of the neck on a deer so you don't have a seam across the top or hair standing straight up.
