Wich one of the old bear models could handle a 31" draw?
All of them. The question is, which one is best for a 31" draw 8^). The 60" Kodiak Hunter will handle it, as will most the other Kodiaks at 60".
The 62" Tigercat is one of the smoothest Bear bows made and would be a good candidate. I would also consider one of the older takedowns with #2 or #3 limbs.
I just picked up my '68 Bear catalogue and all models from the 48" Super Mag on up list "Draw Limit: None." I shoot 60" Bear bows with a long draw length, as well, but my present go-to bow is a 64" Super Kodiak, and it's been a lot of fun too shoot. It's not so much what the BOW can handle, any more...know what I mean? Rick.
Any of the 64 inch Kodiaks and 64"-66" Kodiak Specials would be fine with a 31" draw. Personally I would get a 1957-58 Kodiak Special in a 66" length. You will be delighted with the performance.
I shoot 30 3/4 and most any will handle that lenght although my t/d's I shoot are 62" and I recently picked up a 1966 55# 64" kodiak thats really sweet.
I would go with a 64in kodiak, i have a 59 kodiak that is a 64in and wow what a shooter.
I have a 30in draw and i have a several kodiak hunters and for me they dont handle that long of a draw length. Feels like im hitting a wall at full draw.
My 64" '66 Kodiak is smooth to that draw length though I shoot it shorter.
Rick if you are going to be near San Jose I have a number of Kodiaks from 56" to 70" that you are welcome to shoot anytime.
I shoot my vintage 48 super k mag all the time at 29 1/2" with no problems at all...
