Anyone shooting this bow and how do you like it. I have a chance to buy one of these bows and was wondering about there performance. I shot one at the Howard hill shoot but just cant remember how it performed.
Thanks
This bow is 64in 45@28 and would be perfect for my 30in draw and it also is 3 under.
A PLV is my main bow. Others have come and gone, but this one stays. It´s quiet, and I get better groups than with any other bow. As for performance, check out Blackys tests.
JoLo do the PLV have much hand shock.
I had a PLV,great shooting bow,I never noticed any handshock on mine.I loved the grip on the newer PL Widow's over their older LAG longbows.
Would this 45@28 stack at my 30in draw.
Anyone
The 64" PLV is rated to a 31" draw length, so won't stack at a draw length of 30".
All my past experience was with the LAG's and for the most part good bows. No hand shock and draws smooth out past 30 inches with adequate speed. You can't go wrong buying a widow.IMO
What Running Buck said.
Thanks guys
I own a 64" PLV Ironwood. She's 50#'s @ 28"s I draw 27"s so she's 47#'s for me..Very smooth drawing, NO HAND Shock, quick, fairly quiet. Running Buck made me up a skinny string with padded loops. Boy did that make a big differance. Made it a little quicker but made it quieter too. As far as your draw length Widow recommends 27" to 31 " 64" limbs. So you shouldn't have any problem at your draw. I have to add Widow has been around for over 50 years. They know how to make bows. BOMB Proof. They tend to hold their value. The only thing I'm not crazy about is the grip. If I ever get another one my personal opinion is to get the LAG Grip in a 62"PLII model. My bow really likes 60/65# Sitka Spruce or POC's.
I have a PLV, Griffin and a Peregrin. The performance is about the same with the PLV and the Griffin. The Peregrin is just plain wicked fast and is much more reflexed/deflexed in the limbs. I have to say I really like the PLV, can't put my finger on it, not the fastest or the prettiest but so stable and smooth and shoots exactly where you are looking.
