In late october on my birthday being snowed in I was reading everthing I could read on this site. Then I made the mistake of reading a bow build along. Now the bug has hit me. I can't afford to do a lam bow yet but I will start with a board bow and then self bows. I would like to see some pics of board bows or harvests with board bows.
Linen backed maple board bow. Little over-built but fun to shoot. Camo paint job by my daughter.

Lost Arra I love the camo, that bow looks like it hits hard.
That's just one cool looking bow. I think you should rent out your daughter..lol she'd have more work than she could handle. What style bow would you call it. Holmeguard(sp) or long pyramid? Whatever it is, I love it. How does it feel in the hand? How about shooting?
Thanks in advance!
God bless,Mudd
Nice bow, and your daughter did a great job.
I like it, your daughter paints great.
Mudd: This isn't a true Holmegaard or pyramid. There is some thickness taper in the limbs and the limbs bend more throughout their length except for the fades and last 6" at the tips.
I would say it's like Paul Comstock's "starter bow".
I had never used maple so I wanted it a little overbuilt. It's a good shooter but it's performance could be improved with smaller limb tips and overall reduced mass in the limbs but I don't tweek 'em much after the fact. I just start another one. :)
