Buy it.  It's the best hunting / archery DVD I own and yes, there is some Gene and Barry hunting footage.

The best part is the last scene of the show.

It is about the spirit of the hunt.

It is not full of fist pumping and gory kills.

It shows their love of bowhunting and nature.

You will find no finer gift for a true bowhunter or any decent person for that matter.

I wouldn't call it a hunting video. Certainly a tribute to the critters we pursue, but if you are looking for hunting scenes and shots taken, other than a few turkey kills, it doesn't have much. After all the chatter it inspired, my expectations were high and truthfully, it fell short for me. But it does have some really nice footage.

Primal Dreams is a great video about "why we hunt" with some beautiful country.

For a pure traditional bowhunting video Bowhunting Reflections is the best there is...

Get the long version, a nice snifter of cognac and a fine cuban cigar.  Relax...and enjoy.

Long version for sure.  It's a great documentary of the spirit of the hunt as I would call it.

Honestly, I had to watch it twice to appreciate it. (think I've seen it 4-5 times now) I got it initially as a hunting video and was disappointed until it clicked.  Very good and powerful.

Do not buy it thinking it's like a 'normal' hunting video.  It is not, but much more.

If you want the standard cookie cutter hunting video with 2 minutes of deer walking up and getting killed, followed by high fives, then forget it.

If you want to feel like you just got done reading a great book without having to look at a bunch of words, this is the video for you. Get the long version. The footage is spectacular, and there's no CGI to be found anywhere. It's one of those videos that makes you say "Hey, they caught all of the stuff you see while you're out hunting!"

Don't buy it if you want to see over the schoulder kills but if you want a wildlife film from a trad bowhunters point of view there is none better then Gene and Berry. Widow

It is an extrordinary video!

The first scene from the plane over the mountains still takes my breath away each time I see it.

I've watched it with kids, who enjoy the turkeys, baby moose, and sqirrel scenes, and with nonhunters who enjoy the music, scenery, elk bugles and moose.  Most get a kick out of the "snort-wheeze" as well.  It is the ONLY hunters video that I do not feel uncomfortable playing for my nonhunting friends.

As a hunter, you can watch it over and over and never get bored.  It's great pre-nap fodder.  ;)

By far the best outdoor video I have ever seen.  Hands down.  It shows why we do what we do.

It is the "Jeremiah Johnson" of hunting videos.

The majestic music that accompanies the fantastically beautiful elk scenes is enough to bring tears of joy to the eyes of anyone who has ever spent quality time alone, deep in the elk woods. The campfire scene said it all. . .

The opening sound of the owl and bull elk raised the hair on the back of my neck. Note to self... get my copy back from the in-laws.
