Can someone please tell me the difference between a 58" bow vs a 60" bow? Which one is best for me. I have a 29" draw. I am looking to buy either a cascade whitetail hawk 58" OR A CASCADE SUPER BLACK HAWK 60" I shoot three fingers under if that makes a difference. Thanks.
The difference is about 2 inches. :bigsmyl:
If you have a good smooth release, you probably won't be able to tell any difference. I shoot longer bows becuase they seem to be more forgiving IMHO. If I have a bad release, the longer bows seem to be more forgiving.
With your draw length I would go with the 60" bow. I little less finger pinch and you would probably shoot it more consistantly. Longer bows seem to be more forgiving of form and release errors than do shorter bows. You wouldn't notice any difference carrying the longer bow around in the woods than the shorter one.
I agree with the above in general, but ask the boyer because sometimes they can give you some insight specific to the bows. I was looking at a 60" a while back and the boyer said his 58" would work just as well for me, and he thought the 58" was faster and smoother at my draw.
Thanks for the info. I did like the looks of the 58" better than the 60", but I would rather shoot the best I can. Looks are not everything so they say. Does any of you own a cascade bow or know anythung about them?
With a Cascade I don't think you'd have much trouble either way. My cousin has a 52" Cascade and draws about 27 1/2" with no issues that I know of. They are good bows, but as has been said, talking to the bowyer would be the best first step.
I have a 27 inch draw and like a 60 inch recurve best. I mostly hunt on the ground and like my bows a certain length for other reasons. I like to be able to set the bottom limbtip on my boot and use the bow as a steady stick for my binocs while glassing. At my height a 60 inch recurve or 62 inch lb is perfect.

well iam a short ass and have a short draw 26" and i like short bows 58" as they just suit my style of shooting. and i to hunt on the ground and that is another reason for haveing a short bow as they dont get stuck on tree limbs and scrub. i would say for you with a 29" draw go with the 60"
I am 5'7" and about a 27.5" draw, I love my 60" Black Widow PSAII. I have never shot it out of a treestand, but for spot and stalk it is perfect.
I also agree that the bowyer will know better, as BW was right on the money about how will this one @60" fits me.
Also it is perfect for resting on my boot and resting my bino's on the top limb for quick glassing while hiking.
Good luck.
