I am tunning my new long bow and I am stumped.I am shooting 3355 gold tips @ 47# and with a bare shaft and 125gr. tip I am right on tarket. I shoot my right helical feathers and shoot a group left about three inchs. I twisted the knock, chaged different grain tips and can't figure it out. Somebody said try two feather.Any ideas?
If you are right handed you are shooting a stiff arrow. If left handed it is weak. For a right handed shooter go up in head weight at least 25 to 50 grains. This should move your groups closer to each other.
You have to make large weight adjustments up front to move your group three inches. Changing the number of fletch won't change where you arrows are hitting. Twisting the knock also wont help.
Are the hitting with the bare shafts just below the fletched shafts? You have to adjust your up and down group centers by adjusting the knocking point. Once that is right you can work on getting the spine right on the arrow. Are they full length? Always start with a full length arrow and the head weight you want. Then make very small cuts 1/4 or 1/8 inch at a time until you have them spined right. If the arrows get within an inche of you draw length and are still stiff then you need a much heavier head, or a lighter spined arrow.
