I was just thinking how much I love to hunt mule deer. I took these pictures on a late season hunt a few weeks ago, it was a cow elk hunt that turned into a muley doe photo session.

Steadman I hope this will get you excited for tommorow if you make it out on the mountain. After looking at the picture, I wonder if deer blink when the flash goes off too? I also just paid for the Pronghorn and it should be here on Wednesday! :)

Haaaaaaa what a great animal to hunt, watch, and think about. :campfire:
I just had a rifle mule deer hunt and got a decent buck, but saw a really nice one (that I missed). My mind is racing on how I would bowhunt those mule deer come next fall. I think I'm addicted!
Looks strangely like where my dad and I hunt. Very neat pics! :archer:
We have an extended season here in Utah that runs from mid august until nov 30th buck and until dec 15 for doe. I shot a buck in early september and now I find myself waiting for next year, and it seems so far away. I guess there are spring turkeys to get by until fall.
I took the pictures in Sheep Creek, Spanish Fork Canyon.
I have a bit of a mule deer obsession also. Went for an early season bow hunt the last two years in wyoming for a couple weeks. Still havent shot one but im hooked. Diy public land back country hunts are the highlight of mulie hunting, imho.

Haha! I was off. My dad and I go up to Randolph. To me though, most of northern Utah looks the same. :knothead:

I have not stoped thinking about them since my trip out there in sept.....
they get in your blood worse then the smell of sage, in WYO I jumped a smallbuck while trying a stalk for a doe....between watching him stott away and finding a nice shed I'm hooked.
Counting the days till the next application period!
Nothing but map scouting and reading/studying everything I can.
I just got in from hunting them today in our late season. My tag is still unfilled.
I love hunting them as well. A tough critter to get with a stickbow if you ask me.
Brett
Great pics Conner. Hope to add to the thread. Here are a couple from this past fall. Love them muleys!

I've started to go after them more than I did in the past and really enjoy the rough country of MT and SD for chasing them. Nw South Dakota really got clobbered by winter kill last year and I never saw a truly older deer this year, but next year I'm going back, even if the numbers are really down. I've slowly climbed in my success and have started to get fussy.
Really nice pics.

Some of the best times of my life...Yearly muley hunts in Utah and Colorado from the late 80's to 02. Can't beat the places they stay in bow season!
I've hunted Mulies for 45 years and I still get exited now as I did when I first started.Back in my Wheel days I shot a few absolute Monsters and every year in Sask.we chase some amazing bucks. To me there is nothing finer.

Here's a couple I shot in the nineties. We had a real tough winter the year before I shot these so I went way south to find a new place. I did ok for a few years and then it got bad again. Gary
Sagebrush,
Those are some Beautiful mulies, you're a lucky man.
Dang it you guys I had the fever bad a couple weeks ago and couldn't sleep thinking about them. :help:

Those are some nice pictures Steadman. I need a better camera and I need to make sure I got it with me when I go out.
