I'm looking for a string silencer that wont pick up burrs will walking though the weeds. Yet I want it to last.
-
Catwhiskers are the only thing I can get to work for not picking up burrs and stick tights around here.
-
Beaver Balls are smooth and bur free and quit.
-
Second on catwiskers, ive used them for more years than i can remember, ive tried a lot of others through the years but always com back to the wiskers.
-
Another vote for the whiskers!
-
catwiskers served on and cut small 1- 1.5" so they don't flop around
-
Whiskers for me too. Go to www.jannsnetcraft.com, (http://www.jannsnetcraft.com,) buy the round rubber bug legs. You get a 1 inch wide strip about 4 feet long for $1.19 and there are 9 colors to choose from.

Make that:

Thanks Peachey I just ordered.

I like the spider looking ones from Black Widow (others carry them also) I resisted using them for several years cause I thought they looked, well weird. But they work, and although I forget the weights they weighed much less than the cat whiskers which I replaced with them.

1.5 - 2" pieces of leather boot lace that I've soaked for a day in Pitch Blend. Waterproof, last forever and do a good job of quieting a string. Cheap, too.
-
I would say cat whiskers, but when I use beaver or other fur, I just ignore the burs.
-
I know cat whiskers probably work the best but i just love my Bow Hush whiskers.
-
Catwhiskers.

Thanks Everyone for your input and Especially to Peachey, I went to that web site and both my father and I ordered some of the tube legs like you suggested. Again thanks everyone for all the input.
Robert.
