well finally broke the ice with trad equipment!
right at dark this deer came down following a small creek i was hunting,at one time he was on the edge of the creek 20 yds but he was following the creek and would be closer if i waited,so at 15 yds he was quartering to me i drew my shafer and bleated him to a stop and made the shot!
he dropped in his tracks and i put a follow up arrow in him the shot was good maybe 2" off the the right but i am a happy camper :archer:
bow is 52@27"58" shafer recurve shooting cx 150's and two blade broadheads

 Nice shooting
Good deal Ralph!
Great pics!
Congrats!!! I know what you mean by "gnat capital of south"...I lived in Leesburg for a couple of years right next to the Kinchafoonee Creek...(sp.?)...anyway, when you find yourself swatting at gnats and there's none around when you go in the house or in the car, you know you're becoming at one with the natives there. I don't see how you can focus long enough to get a good shot.
good going Ralph!
Good shooting and congrats!!!
Benjy

Way to go Ralph!
thanks to my bow family :campfire:
A big congrats on your first Trad harvest Ralph!!
First trad deer is like making the first Million bucks: it's always the hardest...less you shoot a monster...then..well, all bets are off after that! :bigsmyl:
Sounds like you learned some good lessons about waiting and stopping a deer!
Don't worry about the score..just enjoy the experience. Score cards take care of themselves.
Dave with wheel bow you could stop them and then take your time with the shot, whole differint thing with trad bows kinda one fluid motion with the draw and shot man when it comes togather it's a thing of beauty
Congrats!
congrats!! just got my first on thanksgiving morning, its a great feeling, aint it? :clapper:
Sincere congrats...and many happy returns!!!
Thanks for sharing your success :campfire:
congrats Luke! wishing you many more sucessful hunt's
where i grew up all we had to shoot was small game it was a 2 hour drive to hunt deer and not many hunted with the bow, that's quite and accomplishment to get a deer with traditional bow at your age good luck,Ralph
