Helle Knives are awesome. Thanks for posting this!!!!
Wingnut,
I checked the site and it looks good. One problem. The text explaining the sandwhiched steel blades covers the intro text on the home page.
Nice job.
clay,
Turn your text down to 100%. I had the same problem because I run at 150% .. .bad eyes..LOL

Hey Wingnut, Which one do you carry to the woods??
I love my Fjellmann!
Mike,
EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT JOB!!
Great layout, easy to read.
Best success to you.

I carry a variety of knives depending on what I'm hunting and where. The knife that always is in the pack though is the:
Hellefisk - $60.00
Cork handle. Sandvik 12C27 stainless steel blade. The floating fish knife, also great for the fanny pack when hunting critters that you'll need to bone out before packing out of the back country. It's so lightweight you won't even know that you're carrying it.
It holds a great edge and is very light weight. It will be in all of our packs on our Alaska Moose hunt next September.
Mike
love my "Millstone". Some of the best steel I've owned.
They are my favorite knife. I hunted for a great knife for years. Helle knives are the best blades I have seen so far. I have the Harding model. I skinned and broke down two elk with it before I could even tell it was not as sharp as when I started.Gary
Any idea which would be best for a horizontal all around knife, but mostly skinning/quartering for backpack hunts?
I want to make a few for my dad and I, but I prefer a horizontal carrying knife if a fixed blade. Otherwise I usually carry a folder.
thanks, always thought a Helle horizontal carry would be great.
I love those knives.
As soon as I can afford one. I'm gettin' one.....Christmas and bills first.

I'd get a Helle, and have someone like Steve Catts make you a sheath. Lots of talented leather crafters around here....
If you are building a horizontal carry knife it's about blade length and shape. Look through the webpage and the specs and figure what you want. Then build them and the sheaths. Your good too go.
We do offer one horizontal knife for sale.
#170 Dovre - $75.00
Curly birch, black Corian finger guard with black leather accent stripe. Triple laminated stainless steel blade The unique sheath features a cradle for the blade clips to your belt in a horizontal position. I also has an eyelet for use as a swing sheath if desired. STATS
Length - 6 6/8 inches (169mm)
Blade - 2 7/8 inches (72mm)
Handle - 3 7/8 inches (97mm)
