Title: big moose!
Post by: sendero25 on November 28, 2009, 07:49:00 PM
Folks, the way pics get around the internet, there is a good chance some or most of you have seen this, but it is new to me and I thought I'd share.
My sister in law just sent this to me, it was forwarded to her but it was "supposedly" taken at Elliot Lake, Ontario, and the road is "supposedly" a normal size dirt road, even if it an atv trail, this animal looks huge!
My sister in law is in Okeechobee,Florida, so don't blame her for the pic!  She thought a moose was about the size of a deer!
My apologizes in advance if you've all seen it but it was new to me, so I thought I'd share,
John

I got this in an email as well and questioned why an animal this large isn't casting a "shadow"!!!

I called B.S......but stand to be corrected.

Yeah, I'm no expert on photoshopped pics, I get a lot of forwarded pics I question.
My brother sent me one of a snake eating a lizard in Arizona, turns out it was a python eating a monitor lizard in Australia!
I still want to hunt a moose though, almost as bad as a caribou!

I'd only shoot if he stayed on the road.  :)

No offense but PT Barnum had a point.

Some basic rules:  Believe half of what you see, and none of what you get in a forwarded email.

Photoshop.

I seen enough moose(Canaidian sub species) to know the size of one vs. a road.Even the alaska/yukon subspecies which is the largest of the 3 dosen't get that big.

No offense taken, but as a disclaimer...I never said I believed it, notice the quotation marks around "supposedly".. just thought I'd share..
Mods, please delete this if you would,
thanks. I was afraid of where this would go.

I don't know about that pic but I do KNOW Moose are huge.

I was riding in a 4x4 F350 Ford truck coming down a logging road in British Columbia.  We came around a corner and had a big cow Moose in the road in front of us.  The guide laughed stomped the gas and told me to hold on. That Moose ran right down the middle of the road. Her rear end was about level with the rear view mirror.

amusing, but pure nonsense and nothing to do with trad bowhunting.
