I had a few hours to myself the other day with a steady SW wind but very warm for November. So I tried a stand I haven't hunted in a wile.I wasn't there 20 minutes and I looked over my shoulder and saw this. (http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm219/bighorncooch/nov09109.jpg)

Congrats!Looks like a ole grampa buck
Sorry Guys I was in a hurry earlier should have given a few more details :scared: :banghead: and he walked out of sight.I gave him an hour before trailing. For the first 60 yds there was not a drop of blood but the heavy gouges he left in the earth were plainly visible. When I got to where he laid down It looked as though someone had left a hose running in a few more yards this it what I saw, no propping or staging this is how he died. (http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm219/bighorncooch/nov09104.jpg)He dressed 240#s and was aged by a biologist at 9 1/2 yrs old.In my neck of the woods this deer is the exception to the rule. I was shooting a 70# bighorn with easton FMJ's w/315 grains in front w/ a 190gr el Grande doing the cutting. As a side note I wish I had taken a few more reference pics to show how heavy this grand beast truely was, next time I promise
Very Nice!
he is a nice one for sure...Congrats
WOW!
Nice!!
Wow, thats a body. Way to go.
Congratulations of a fine buck!!
Nice one for Connecticut for sure! 9.5 years old too, WOW. If you have the chance you might send a tooth in to be aged under the microscope just to be sure.
Awesome!!!!
Need say nothing more!!
 :clapper: Congrats and thanks for sharing.

Wow! Another brute of a buck! Congratulations!
Nice buck.Congrad :clapper: Is that a string tracer on your bow?Haven`t seen them in a long time.Or is it a stablizer bar?Just wondering.
Nice Job, Congrats, He's a Dandy!
You said the magic words! "I hunted a stand I haven't hunted in a while". Most people hunt a spot so the deer end up patterning you. Fantastic hunt and fantastic Buck! Congrats! Thanks for sharing! :clapper:
9.5 years old, I would say he has smelled a few hunters :) Congrats on a fine animal
Thanks guys This was the first time I tried to do a story,I'm a bit challanged when it comes to stringing words together.Bushytail that is a string tracker I only use it on rainy days (had a bunch this season)I really should put a bushing in that riser but I can't bring myself to drill a hole in her, hens the jury rigg.
Wow....we don't usually see an old boy like that around here! great job!
Way to go!!! A huge body deer, old (9.5 yrs) and a great rack! Congrats!!!!!!! A real trophy!

Nice buck way to go !!!
I worked in Connecticut for a year part of it with their deer program. I had my hands on hundreds of deer there and never saw one close to that body size. You have an awesome trophy there, Congrats! :clapper:
Wow!!!!! great buck congratulations
Wow! 9 1/2 years old, now that is something! Congrats!
Can do Terry although that deer may have gotten the last laugh. When I was trying to get him loaded in the truck I pulled somthing in my left elbow and forearm.I can barly pull a 40# bow 20"s I,m very concerned about Solona its coming fast. If I didn't want to keep this spot a secret I would have gotten help.I'm not complaining just concerned, jumpppy deer and no practice might be a bad combo. :help:
