Title: Just Curious
Post by: pitbull on November 26, 2009, 10:04:00 AM
I have had a couple nasty e-mails in the last several weeks obviously from anti's who had viewed my pics that I have in my Photo Bucket alblum. They are the pics that I have posted here. I was just wondering if anyone has experienced the same.

No, but if they are threatening, forward them to the Ohio State Attorney General's office.  Photobucket accepts advertising and sponsorship from PETA and HSUS, etc.  Contact them about that and tell them you will drop them if they continue.  Then drop them.  I'm pulling my account next week, after I have a few ads finish up that requires there help.

I didn't realize that either. Does anyone have an opinion on the best alternative site?

George, there were no threats, just negative comments from people that just don't understand.

This really sucks! Looks like we need an alternative to photobucket for TradGang. I refuse to deal with anyone who supports PETA and HSUS, period! I'll cancel my account, and tell them why.

Another miracle of modern technology!

A few months back someone emailed me to ask if they could use some of my photos involving me or my knives (ones that I had shown on a forum, cant remember which forum) on a site that is "educational". I was not satisfied with the information that they were willing to give about who they were and what the purpose would be for my photos. So I said NO.

It may have been fine, but I got an uneasy feeling about it and thought I smelled a rat. I believe the UK was the source.

For what it's worth.

By the way, I recommend Flickr as a hosting site. Get the cheapest pro version. Lin

Pit Bull,

Not sure about your states laws, but in my state unwanted contact ( negative ) is harrassment.  If it continues I would definately contact the attorney generals office in your state and file it.

The bunny huggers seem to think the laws don't apply to them.  Here in Washington I know a lot of hunters who turn them in and they get hammeredby the state.  No one who meets the laws of their state should be harrassed for it.

I had one of the knuckleheads follow a buddy and I into the woods with a boom box.  Not a smart move on his part.  Lets just say the County Sherriff got a really good laugh when they picked him up.   That knucklehead got a heavy fine and 90 days in jail. Hunter harrassment is a crime in Washington State.

We take our rights seriously.  It is in our bill of rights and our constitution here in Washington that hunting and fishing are acknowledge rights of each citizen.

Glad to know about the PETA etc. connection. What is it with the people who are always crying about freedoms won't let anyone else have theirs?
No loss, don't use 'em anyway, got my own server space if I wanna post.

I recommend not adding a title or description for the photos if your only reason for putting them on photobucket is to post them here. For online storage and safer sharing, there are superior programs such as Google's "picasa" (spelling?)

Just a quick note on PETA. My Mom and her Cousin (rich) were going into Graffs Furs in San Diego. There were protesters out front and my Mom and Cousin took all the paperwork they had. Out they came with a new mink and bigger boobs! They stuffed their bras with the literature from PETA!!!! LMAO!!

I use tinypic.com for my picture uploads. You can set up a FREE account and I have never ever had any problems. It's a hell'a easier than photobucket and any other site I have found.

I was going to lay into PETA, but I'll save that for another day.

I think that I will continue to post pics there.  I won't give them the satisfaction of making me move.  To the dogs with em.

I don't see how closing a free account with them will stop supporting them.

I'll keep mine, like DVShunter said. They won't get the satifaction of moving me.

The point is, photobucket accepts money from people who want to end hunting through terrorist tactics! Do you want to support a company that does that? I don't. If you talk the talk, then walk the walk.

Wonder if the Admin and moderators are aware.  They are the ones advocating the use of Photobucket in their picture posting instructions.

ANY "support" of an organiztion that "supports" anti-hunting organizations is BAD!

If photobucket supports PETA there would be no way I would use their service. Any chance I get I tell people around here about how HSUS is the largest anti-hunting organization in the world (their HQ is about 30 min away from my house) And buying anything from them supports their activities.

I use the imagelinky method of posting pics. Works great and I don't get any emails from anyone harassing me. If someone has your email address then can potentially get into your computer....and that is really BAD.

Thank you George!!! Should this be a thread of its own to bring more attention?!
