.......arrow point.
i finished my 1st ever primitive point yesterday. it's made from the bottom of a long neck beer bottle. it turned out to be 2" long, 1 3/8" wide and 5/16" thick. it weighs 192grs. starting to get the hang of setting up platforms to be able to push of nice big flakes past the centerline, which you need to do in order to thin it down while still ending up with enough width. it will be special to shoot something with it that's for sure! or should i keep it??

That really is awesome!
Nice work.

Good job
Beautiful!
Definately shoot something with it!
Then you have a real reason to save it and make another and so on.
Very nice...like everyone else says use it and then keep it
WOW Clint!
I actually found a "mother load" of obsidian about two weeks ago. There is a vein of it exposed after a road was cut near my friend's house, about a 30 minute drive from me. Most of the chunks I've found are about the size of a golf-ball with a few 'bout the size of lemons. It's neat stuff with clear layers which I would think lends itself to thin and wide objects.
I'm feeling pretty darned inspired... Any chance you could do a build-along or PM me a thread link?
Happy thanksgiving to you bud (do y'all celebrate that in Australia too?)
you better run down and get a "case"
nice work clint--also shoot something with it!! :D
Very Impressive Mate!
get some blood on it and then it'l be a keeper
I think I'd have to keep it. Very nice!! Hap
Clint,
That is really a nice head. I watched a guy
make one once out of a blue bottle bottom. That was really sharp too.
Craig
awesome
absolutely gorgeous! would love to see how you do that - we need a bottle bottom knap-along pictorial! :D
You have some serious talent dude.
:notworthy: :notworthy:
Nice. My first point was from a beer bottle too. You might want to hang onto that one and shoot number two. There used to be a web page called knapper's anonymous that showed how to knap a beer bottle point. Those pages might still be available somewhere. Better watch it you will turn around one of these days and realize you have stashed a few thousand pounds of rock around your place.
That is one killer head. To bad you can't do that with American bottles. They are made in China and would break.
Great looking point!!
Very nice!
Shoot somthing that way its not a wrthless dust collector and when you "do it yourself" its an awesome feeling
It's functional art emphasis on both words, great job! Do you want to look back years from now and say man I should have saved that first one,or man I should have used that first one?Whatever you decide I hope you have no regrets, the next 150 will probably be a little easier to make a decision on just don't kill your liver for the sake of raw material.
I'll drink to that!
Wow!
This Buds for you!
Dang thats downright pretty.
Great job, I'm jealous! Wish I had your skill and talent. Good to know whatever may happen ya can always make yerself an arrowhead.
Date it with a marker and keep it. down the road you will want to compare your first head with later heads. I still have my first knapped head.Oustanding work by the way.
great job. thats somthing that iwoukd like to do...someday
I think it would be on an arrow attached to the bow string. Congratulations, Very nice job. :clapper:

"Clint can Flint" Good job man now don't go buying a case of beer just to get more glass or the Mrs. might get upset with ya!
those links are great thanks
wow! two great things to use a beer bottle for!
If you shoot something with it and even if it breaks you will have to make another and you know what that means, you getta drink another beer! WIN-WIN!!!!
