Title: mini chop saw blades
Post by: boznarras on November 21, 2009, 04:43:00 PM
I am looking at the mini chop saws at Harbor Freight for cutting carbon shafts. I don't see they sell an abrasive blade. Does anyone know a source for these blades, they are 2" diameter.

Alternatively what cut off wheels work well with a dremel for carbons. I see different thicknesses, and foberglass reinforced, etc. What gives the best finish and lasts best?

If you are looking at the 6" chop saw 7ou can use the 3" or 4.5" abrasive wheels they offer.

I get mine from my bro-in-law, who has a service station. When he changes the wheels on his 4" grinder they are two inches in diameter. Hap

I bought the same saw about 6 months ago. It doesnt always start when i flick the switch, it often helps to tap the top of the saw to get it working. It was inexpensive so i really can't complain too much. I found the 2" blades on a popular auction site ;-)

You might try looking at AIH (Alaska Industrial Hardware). The have quite an assortment of abrasive blades for die grinders and such so they might have some that will fit.

I use my dremel with a regular cut off blade and you can flush it up with the flat part of the blade.
