Wonderful hunt. I sat on a creek crossing near a beaver dam . I got on stand after about a half mile walk from the house. Its nice hunting from the house but rough. There are no roads and I have to cross a nasty clearcut..

The tall trees in the back are where I`m headed.I have to cross a small ridge...

And I hunt a creek crossing on the transition on the back side. This is one of the trails coming from the crossing...

I was on stand a very short while and heard a deer coming through water. She came out from my left headed to the ridge on my right. She stopped and I sent an arrow on the way. There was a loud crack and she ran hard. I hurt a lot of racket in a thicket and thought she went down then a few minutes later I heard walking in the water. This can`t be good I thought , so I slipped out and back to the house. I headed to town for a Hardees Bisquit...I`m addicted to`m and called my Buddy Chris and told him about waht happened. He reassurred me I`d find her.
I got back home and after giving her afew hours I headed to the crossing. There was no blood where I shot her but I followed tracks a little ways and found this...

She hit a defined trail and I went on following tracks then found this...

After I found the broadhead part of the arrow the blood was good..till I got here..bad news for a bloodtrail..

I waded in and picked up blood on an island and after a very tricky blood trail..she did a figure 8 I found her. Thank You Lord.
Deer number 6 for the year #5 for my new Widow now named "Swamp Music".
