I just arrived home from work about an hour ago to find 22 deer and one boomer buck running the herd through my neighborhood. I could easily see his massive horns at 150 yards in the light of my pickup truck. his rack must have stood about 16-18" high and around 22" wide. Why dont i see this crap while im in my stand? I havent seen anything in the past three weeks and here he is waiting on my doorstep in a subdivision. They are all agaist me i tell ya its a revolution, a damn deer revolution!!
Dont feel bad after climbing out of my stand today saw a 180 plus buck standing in the road.
hey i feel your pain, i have spent countless hours this season on stand and have not been near a good buck Then the last two nights in row not one but TWO giants by my mailbox each night chasing the does in the picked bean field! OUCH!
I just went up the road to pickup food for the starving children-Haha and they were still in the field at the end of my street
Im about to do a little ninja action on them if they keep teasing me
Probably wouldn't do to pin him to the front door, so try to restrain yourself and just enjoy the show. :)
Tonight, I went for a midnight walk and saw a big buck chasing a doe through a park off of Main St. in this town of 25,000! They ran past me and I stopped. Suddenly, a huge racked buck came after them in pursuit, nose to the ground, and passed by at 10 yards! Where were they when I was out hunting?

I feel your pain. We have a trail cam set up 15 yds from the front door. I get picks of beautiful bucks every night. So far we have pics of 12 different bucks and 18 does.
Here are a couple from the last two days:

Very seldom see on during daylight hours.

My first trad kill came this year and i shot the buck 80 feet out the side door of our cabin.
We have some huge blacktail bucks here in the suburbs. So you'll drive up in the mountains, hunt in the rain and snow, drive home and have to wait for a big old 4X4 with eyeguards to walk out of the road! Just not right! haha
That's one way big whitetails get big. I tell guys that hunting mature whitetail bucks in an area that gets heavy hunting pressure is as different from "deer hunting" as can be. Treat mature bucks like a different species and forget most of what you know about deer and you are at a good starting point. I also often tell guys that the thing that impresses me most about whitetails is that the world record buck could live under your back porch and you wouldn't know it. Mostly I get blank stares.
Ryan (If I were as smart as a 5 1/2 yr old whitetail buck I'd win the nobel prize) Rothhaar
My sister had 3 deer bedded down in her back yard. She let her dog out to do his business. They just laid there and watched him.
I'm shootin' them and draggin' them into the damn garage if I have to. Nobody will hear an arrow!
Wait, is that illegal?
I want name names but a guy i know thats not much of a hunter shot a 150 class whitetail off his deck sunday afternoon in a neighborhood where the average house cost over 1 million dollars. Im not sure about the regulations where he lives but im pretty sure he shouldnt have done what he did. I guess the redneck in him showed up and to be honest i hope and pray one like that doesnt walk by my deck. :biglaugh:
I did a little more investigating and found out that these deer and the big buck are bedding down 150yds from my front door every night in a gravel parking lot no less behind an abandoned nite club down the street. Why on earth a gravel lot? It cant even be comfortable to lay on not to mention i bet the rocks dont taste good. Go figure.
I hunt alot of subdivisions and have had some pretty good success. I have seen some of the biggest bucks doing some crazy things. Check your Game Laws and respect the homeowners and you may have some of the best deer hunting.Big Ed
(http://i567.photobucket.com/albums/ss115/earljeff/Youngsbuck8409051.jpg) Don't feel bad guys this monster has been running around in a neighbor yard two blocks from my house all summer and disappeared around the start of hunting season.
