Title: Hill T/D in central Ohio?
Post by: Irish Archer on November 18, 2009, 01:15:00 PM
I'm going to order a new Hill from Craig and I'm thinking that I want a take-down but it's a lot to spend without being sure that I like the grip.

Was wondering if anyone here in central Ohio has a small and/or large sleeve take-down that I could meet up with and shoot a few arrows to get a feel for it?

I'd like to shoot both the small and large grip to feel the difference but I know that probably will not be possible. (between 40 and 55 pounds...maybe a touch higher)

Anyway, if you have one and would not mind, I'd really appreciate the chance....Thanks...Randy

Good luck Randy. I have three Hill's and have considered buying a TD Hill, but have not for the same reason you have. In the years I've been on TG I've only seen 1 TD Hill come up for sale and that was just recently. I just don't think there are many out there. Have you checked with Craig to see if he has one available for a look see? If he has, he might consider sending it to you for a free look if you give him a credit card number and pay for the shipping both ways. Just a thought. It might be worth the expense.

I'll ask him if I can't find someone to allow me to try one locally. I just thought it would be easier to do it here.

Good thinkin' though. Thanks

I just got a Hill Wesley Special TD blank this winter.  I got the large handle and it feels pretty good.  I took it with me on a rifle hunt and put it with 3 arrows and broadheads into a 3' long, 4" PVC tube.  Hardly took any space.  It definitely weighs more with the T/D sleeve than without, but it shoots nice.
