Well had the pleasure to head down to Hog Heaven this past weekend. Had a great time and got to hunt with a good group of guys. Thanks Ray, Mike Terry, George and Freddy. Didn't get a shot at a hog but saw plenty of deer and turkey. Hog sign was abundant but no encounters. The acorns were everywhere so they din't have to move much for a meal. Speaking of food....the meals served by Ray are worth the price of admission alone. Sat at the fire talking late into the night...coyotes provided the back ground music. I will be back!

L to R George, Ray, Freddy, Terry and Mike.
sounds like fun!.. anybody get a shot off?
No shots taken....on sunday George saw 4 on the road in but they vanished. Ray and Mike did hear them going crazy in one area squeeling, grunting on sunday morning but no shots.
I'll be back no question. Ray is a great host and the food was excellent. I never hunted a piece of property that has so many unusual looking trees. I had 6 turkeys come in one morning and walked up on another 5 the next day; 4 nice hogs crossed the road that I was walking in on, but apparently they were in a hurry to get somewhere else. Everyone saw deer on each hunt. This is a great place.
Yeah...had a blast....good food and better folks for sure. It was the slowest I've ever seen it at Rays before by far...moon-acorns-rising water....who knows but the sign was everywhere but the hogs were like ghosts.
I also hope these guys return, and 'get even' with them hogs next time.
Enjoyed the campfire and company guys... :campfire:
You gaining weight Terry? :)
Sounds like you guys had a great time. I plan to make it up there one of these days.
I don't know about Terry gaining weight, but he walked me into the ground saturday morning....only thing slowing him down was a swirling wind...(best 5 outta 7)..LOL
Thanks for the pointers Terry, hope to put them to good use in the not to distant future....
Oh yeah....would like to thank Biggie for customizing the couch for sleeping....slept like a baby.
Terry you must of know that there were snorers in our group and managed to stay out of the thunder zone...thanks to Mike's ear plugs I was able to sleep like a baby Saturday night.
You are right about Terry G. he knows how to wear out boot leather.
Hunting doesnt gurantee a harvest...but does guarantee a great time!
Saturday night around the campfire was one of those awesome spectacles of flames in the fire pit, flames in the sky in the form of millions of stars, crisp clean air with teh scent of pines, and the howling of a coyote pack on the hunt that just makes our place so special you cannot describe it effectively.
Can't wait to get back.
cant wait til april.hope those turkeys are moving then.and the hogs too...chris
Chris...saw lots of turkeys.....you should be good to go.
Apex...maybe its the camera shot....Every year I wear the same suit Easter Sunday that I wore at my wedding.....18 years ago this December. I've been floating around 195 for years. But I will tell you one thing....I gain 3 pounds and 2 of it settles on my face. I can thank my Grand Father Baxter for that one.
Hey,....you should have seen those Miami guys bundle up something fierce when it dropped below 55 degrees. Freddie was loaded for bear, and dress like one as well.
Good bunch of guys...I'd like to see them get some revenge in the near future. :readit:
Freddie's blood was running alittle thin for sure...how did your deer hunting go Terry?
