Seen this for sale awhile back. I missed it. but never seen one before. Anyone know anything about these bows.Bow is the top one in pic. (http://inlinethumb45.webshots.com/45996/2635180800051876912S600x600Q85.jpg) (http://sports.webshots.com/photo/2635180800051876912EqvAzS)
It is not a Saunders recurve, it is a Sanders recurve...the Hunter model. They made some beautiful and functional bows. Most folks who never heard of them want to call them Saunders....there is even a typo in the Archery History website. Chuck Saunders, and Saunders Archery never made recurves.
Ok George. thats what was in the add. I missed out on the bows. I wanted that bow. I really like the looks of that riser. Thanks for the info. I looked on the web and could find nothing like this bow.<><<><
Keep an eye out on the big auction. The 1950's Sanders bows were gorgeous, with multi-laminated risers, and unique designs. They were one of the first companies to offer custom orders also.
I'll try to find some photos to post of the Sanders bows this week.
Thanks I will keep a watch out.<><
I got one somewheres but cant find it. It has the most unusual riser I have seen.
Sanders made bows that contained as high as twenty or more lams in the riser, going every direction. Plus they made some really front of the limb models....before Black Widow or Wing thought of it, and their bows were real performers. They also had some plain ones and some borderline bazaar...like this one.
