Post by: agross1 on November 14, 2009, 08:01:00 PM
a friend of mine is getting started into trad hunting and he asked if i knew anything about his bow,  being pretty new to trad myself i told him i had no idea but i knew of some folks that might,  if this is in the wrong place i apologize,  i will try and post some pics and hopefully they are the correct size,  a big thanks for any help,  he said the bow used to belong to his grandfather (http://i586.photobucket.com/albums/ss307/fsnatch/DSCN0996.jpg)

Indian Archery, 58", 40 lb.  No idea of the model.

It's made by Indian Archery, Evansville, Indiana.
Can't tell what model for sure, but it may be the Hunter.  They were fairly plain but were nice shooting, smooth bows.  It could also be the Seneca.  Can't read numbers very well...tell us what they read.

Catalog 263 is the Savage model.  L58 means Length 58",  W40 means Weight 40#.  77782 is the serial number.  I'm not sure how Indian Industries formed the serial number, or if the date was indicated in it.  It's an early to mid 60's bow, prior to 1968.
