I just pulled in last night after a 10 day hunting trip to northern Kansas. Wow! That's about all I can say about the whole experience. I saw more nice bucks in 10 days than I've seen in Louisiana in the last 10 yrs. Although the weather was quite warm for Kansas the deer seemed to move pretty well. I called in several nice bucks over my time there, but this nice "little" (by Kansas standards) 10 pt. left some does he was harassing and came in to my grunt call. I had a scent wick with some golden estrous on it and when he got down wind of it he walked right in broadside at 17 yrds. and stuck his nose to it. I made a pretty good shot on him and he made it a little over a 100 yrds. I was hunting a small piece of private land my buddy has access to. I used a 3-piece Pronghorn longbow 51#@27" Goldtip shaft with 225gr. Woodsman head. Great hunt!!! Can't wait till next year.

nice!
Congrats on the buck. I had a similar situation. When I lived in Wisconsin I saw more good bucks in my first season there than the previous 20 years back home in LA.
Great buck
Beautiful deer! I hope to see as much action up there as you did. I'll be hunting the family farm around Thanksgiving. What town were you near? I hunt near Florence, about 30 miles n.e. of Newton.
That's a beautiful "little" buck! Wished I could kill a buck that small :) Congrats!!

Seeing pictures of deer like that has elevated Kansas to my "Want To" list!
Yes!
Yes, Randy. That's my Pronghorn in the pic. I recieved it around March of this year. Not the fastest bow, but very stable. I really like it.
Looks like you handle it well. You should send a picture to Herb I know that he would love to see it. Congrats again that is one dandy deer. I am with Whip Kansas is on my want to list.
Very nice buck,congratulations.
Congrats
Nice deer, congrats!
What a perfect looking animal, Great job,
Great job and a nice buck. I hunted Kansas one year and it is the promised land for sure.
Nice buck! Are you sure that deer didn't have my name on him? :saywhat:
Randy, I think I will send a pic. to Herb. Thanks for the suggestion. Shawn, I bet you got more than one buck with your name on it since you live in "the promised land". If he did have your name on it, I hope you didn't mind an old Louisiana boy taking him home. He made my day. Thanks again guys for all of the kind comments.
Great buck Fritz, sounds like a great trip.
Nice!
Most people (myself included) do not even SEE a deer that nice every year in KS.
Congrats!
A friend was having ther annual "Deer Camp" in the area you hunted, and said the bird hunters sounded like a "war zone" up there yesterday.
Outstanding pheasant forecast this year must have been accurate!
Nice deer
Nice buck, congrats!
Out-of-staters are only allowed to shoot 2 yr old six points when they're here. Obviously, you didn't read that little regulation.
Nice buck, and congrats!
Way to go...Very nice
Congrats!

Fritz....If I could paint a picture of what I feel is the perfect buck - That would be it! Absolutely awesome looking animal! My Congrats :clapper:
Manolito,
I didn't read that part of the Kansas regs. Please accept my appology and I promise I'll try to do better next year. Once again, thank you guys for all the kind words. Good luck to all of you the rest of the season.
