Title: ILF Pinnacle II longbow opinions?
Post by: elbow on November 12, 2009, 06:48:00 PM
I just got a Pinnacle II 64" longbow, 50@28 from Trad tech Archery. Shoots great for me 30" draw, 2117 w/145 grain heads. Not to familiar with ILF or Pinnacle Bows, just looking for opinions on them, got it in a trade and for me shoots better that anything Ive Shot. Any info would be appreciated.

I like ILF bows.I like the Pinnacle except for the way the limb adjustment bolt is held in place.I would like it better if the limb bolt adjusted using a threaded metal sleve all the way through the riser.Still a nice bow.

I also like Win&Win limbs better though they don't make a longbow limb yet.

Congrats on your bow and don't take my comments too hard.I am just saying what I think would make a good bow better.

Keep your eyes open, I think Dryad is about to enter the ILF longbow market in a big way.

I have a Pinnacle 1, with #50 longbow limbs, 64" and #50 recurve limbs, carbon wood, 62. Quietest shooting bow I have, or have seen, bar none. Shoots great too.  I have no complaint with either set of limbs or the riser. I cant realy see any difference in the risers between the 2, myabe my older one has a higher grip, about all. I think this is a great bargain, considering you can find them used about 30% off, in  great shape. I have mine set up off the shelf, and did drill the riser and put a stab. insert in it, to use a sling. I have small hands, and without a sling, I grip and torque the riser too much. GT 35/55, 150 tips, good to go. Took my 4th turkey this fall season with this bow, 10 yds from a ground blind, as the bird was flopping around, the rest just walked around, bow was so quiet at the shot.

I shoot the tradtech black onyx riser with the ILF longbow limbs.  I have not tinkered too much with all the adjustments.  Got it set and it shoots good so I just don't mess with it.  The wood/glass longbow limbs have done well for me so far.

I am looking for another set of ILF longbow limbs, so I might just have to keep an eye out for dryad's offering.

We have had ILF longbow limbs for 2 years now. I really like the ILF recurve and longbow from the same riser. I've been hunting with both the last two seasons, I can't see me going back to non adjustable bows. A whole lot of recurve limbs are available at all price ranges, Longbow are a little limited right now but more are coming available everyday, Sky , Swan, Trad Tech and many more about to enter the ring. Lot of stuff for a little pond........

Steve, You get the longest set of limbs you can get and have your 50# set at 5 to 6 turns out on your limb bolt... 30" smooth as butter.

Who has shorter recurve limbs, I would like something that would give me a 58 or 60" bow, about 50@30", where do I look?

With standard ILF limbs you need a 17" riser for a 58" bow with short limbs.Medium limbs make a 60" bow. I think the Pinnacle has a 19" riser so you will need custom limbs.

Just my opinion,
A 30" draw and short ILF limbs is asking for a bow that stacks, and may have a short life.
