Mr. Billy Shipp, a great friend to just about everyone on this site had some luck, please join me in congrats! :clapper: :clapper: :clapper:
For those of you who don't know Billy he is a fantastic person, one of those Trad Gang kind of guys who would give you the shirt off his back. He hunts very hard in an area where hogs are plentiful but a good shot at a deer is hard to come by. He made a perfect shot (I did some creative editing of the entrance wound)on this deer with his new Tall Tines recurve.
Hopefully Billy will step in and expand, he's kind of shy and I hope I don't get in trouble for posting this on his behalf! :(
Congrats my Friend!

Good un Mr Billy.
TallTines bows and tenderloins. It don't much better than that.
I guess thanks are in order to Mr Golder for posting the picture. Most of you know Tim, but to those who don't, he really bears watching.
Don't get me wrong....Tim is a good guy, but sneaky, sneaky, sneaky.....just like sticking this on here, and it being a total surprise to me.
Tim and I go back a ways. I kinda think he might like us Texas boys, but he had serious doubts about there being any deer at all in my part of the state. I emailed Tim the picture just to prove to him that there are indeed deer hereabouts.
The property I hunt was clearcut 7 or 8 years ago, and thicker than hair on a dog's back. Shot opportunities are few and far between. The place is terribly overgrown with brush, saw briars, and Elm thickets too thick for a rabbit to go through. Three of us hunt this place, and it's not uncommon for everyone to go 2 or 3 weeks without even seeing a deer, much less getting a shot.
This little nubbin buck came in at 22 yards. The TallTines bow sent the POC shaft, tipped with a 160 gr Ribtek deep into the ground on the far side. It was a good, double lung shot that allowed him to go only 50 yards. I wasn't able to see him after the arrow struck home, but I knew the arrow was well placed, and heard him pile up in a dead pine top.
Gaff....TallTines bows are built by Brian Wessel. He is in the sponsors listings. Brian builds a very nice shooting bow. Look him up, give him a call. I think you'll be very pleased with one of his bows.
Harry....Yeah....it was a good day. I broke in the TallTines, and the bowhunters knife kit you built for me all in the same day. Thanks to you my friend for doing a great job on the knife kit.
Last but not least.....Thank you Tim for posting the picture...just give me a warning next time Bud (:
Great job Billy :)
Jack
Your a good man Mr. Shipp and I doubt I would have received permission to put your name up in lights! :biglaugh:
So I finally get to put a face to all those PM's we send back and forth!!
Big congradulations Mr. Shipp!! I'm proud to consider you a "Tradgang friend".
Billy,
Congratulations. I bet that tastes a lot better than the burlap turkey we were discussing on Sunday.
paul
Billy,
It sure is nice to put a face with someone I've talked with so much.
My Grandma always used to LOVE it when we would get a "young tender one". :goldtooth:
Glad that TallTines is shooting good for you!
Nice shooting Billy- Congratulations on a fine shot from another lefty.
Thanks for all the comments guys.
Tim, you are not only sneaky, but very clever as well....you get accused of being sneaky, then put a bowhunting twist on it to ease your guilty conscious (:
Allen....Yeah, it's always nice to see as well as know who your friends are. I reckon it's bout time I had my ugly mug made public.
Steve O....the TallTines has become the most used bow on my rack. The bow brings out a confidence I haven't experienced with any other.
Bill....we lefties really need to stick together, especially since you know who has slipped back to the dark side. I won't go so far as to call him a traitor, but the boy sure is a disappointment....going back to shooting right handed....gimme a break !!!!!
Good job there! Some good eating for sure.
Congrats to you Billy! Great story and pics...
Great job Billy. After about 500 emails it's good to put a face with that name! Time to get a few of the pigs.
Great one !!!!! congrats on an excellent shot , another one for the lefties!!!!!
Congrats :clapper:
Come on Billy....give us a story.
Hi Billy,
