Trad Gang

The bow is a 45lb.Bear alaskan. 1960 something. I would like to find names of youth or women and to be able to give a good home to this bow. I will draw a name on the 17th of November. This bow was my husbands first bow back in 1969 and he said sence our grand kids don't hunt you can give it away so that is what I'm doing. It's painted flat brown, and needs a little work. Like arrow rest, ect. Ya Know Greywolf and I was sitting here last night going through this and we both wish we had plenty of bows to send to all the people who need them. Many moons ago i had a bunch of bows I collected and gave them all out to kids and people. One man doesn't need all of these was my thought at the time. Here it is twenty some years later and i still get thank yous from the kids that got one and are now grown up. I been blessed many times over for doing that. What goes around comes around. Life is a circle! Material things never take the place of making people happy. This bow she is giving away was given to me by a older man when i was eight years old, it was at a garbage burn pit. My dad and i took our garbage to burn there one day and the old fellow had this bow and a quiver full of arrows set aside. When i got there he gave them to me knowing my dad was a bowhunter. I shot many rabbits with this bow, but never a deer. Now my Grandkids are too little to hunt and one has a selfbow made by a good guy from this site. This bow needs someone to use it !! and not sit in the closet.. I ain't much for collecting material things. My wife Greywolf said she wanting to help someone enjoy Trad hunting as much as she is learning to love it. So here she is at this point. That Bow is most probably a 1959 or 1960 Alaskan, known to some as «The Halloween Bow» since the glass under that paint is black on the back and bright orange on the belly.

Your right Novaln1975 about it having orange on one side and Black on the other. It's a pretty good shooter still for being that old. She needs a little clean up if ya don't like flat paint. But still shoots fine. I had a little good bye with her a minute ago as she is going on a new adventure, with a good women. Congrads Lynnette.

I am very happy, I was going to wait to Christmas to give it to her, but I ended up telling her today that she had won it and at first she did not believe me, so I had to show her this post. Now she is very excited about it. I guess that I will have to get her some arrows for Christmas.
