Ya know I have had alot of bows. And I do mean alot. But one that I let go haunts me. Got it off Fleabay in 03 or 04. I never heard of the bowyer when I got it. Funny thing is I lost the bid. But the winner sent it back and the guy sold it to me. I really loved it. The bow was a early Jim Neaves. Like I said did not know who he was. G dis d a web search and found him. Called him up and he knew the bow right off. I swore I would NEVER let it go. Shell just smiled. And about a year or so and then got a wandering eye and sold it. I regret it still. The sweetheart is the 3rd from the top on the rack. So anyone else kicking themselves for letting one go?<><

Im probably in the minority..but no.
Only ever owned one. Never shot another stickbow other than my one and only.
Guess Im weird like that.
Hey Frank,
What's the bottom one in the rack, kinda looks like a Sley bow?
Yep, let a Mohawk that I got from Elkherder go and regret it too this day. Same thing happened to me. Got the wandering eye and let it go for something else.

That's a sweet looking longbow. Who made it?
got the only one i REALLY regreat selling coming back home! my Shrew!!!!!
Yes, I traded a Damon Howatt Super Diablo in 50# that I hunted several seasons with in the early 70s and taken quite a few deer for a Colt .22 revolver at a New Years Eve party. I just recently bought another DH SD in 50# but it's not MY bow.
I also got rid of the following I'd like back:
'67 Bear Grizzly
Late 60s Root Gamemaster
Ben Pearson longbow 50#
Yes sir, sold a Dye to a tradgang member, trying to get it back!
Got this Bear TD the first year they were available 70#@28" Broke two sets of limbs and let it go.

Still looking for that old Cari-bow TUktu (all cocobolo) with my name on it.
56" long Elburg Jaguar Mite, my first Elburg bow. I have 7-8 Elburgs, but I should have kept that one. I sold it about 10 years ago after my heart attack and before open heart surgery. I'd love to have it back.
God bless,
José
If the second one's the Horne's combo. I still have it! & It's still a sweet shooter for a low # bow!!!
Larry
Hey Charlie, who's the handsome "young" fella in the pic with your bow? :bigsmyl:
Ah Frank. The desire to be a bow collector with the budget of a bow trader. LOL
That's a tough one!
I had a Northern Mist Superior, 50#, 68", that I couldn't miss with. Yep....I sold it on one of my frequent, "not to bright" moments.
Humm. I think I kinda like the sleek slim lines on the fourth bow. The 5th looks like a Great Plains lb. If so, it would be the glass bow that launched my longbow career. I absolutely fell in love with longbows after shooting that bow.
Yea, I sure miss a few old bows. Glad I got rid of about 100 others along the way. Haven't had a new bow in about 6 years. I've got the bug again now!!!! CK
Kenny,
I used to know that young guy. Now I forget!
:D

Might be a sign of the times. :readit: :goldtooth:

Ya know George I am still watching out for that OTTER bow for ya. And Guys I am glad I am not alone.<><
i solved the problem! /////// just keep the old bow! never trade never regret
Yep. I had to buy it back. Martin Dreamcatcher. Nothing spectacular but it was my first. At only 50#s I might need it in my old age anyway! :)
Yeah, my 52# Griffin but I got her back.I miss the Rio Bravo I sold you a little. She sure was perty but I had just begun shooting longbows exclusively.
My wife was cleaning out the baby's room, took the crib out and put in a little kiddie bed. "How many bows do you have"!! rang through the house. Well I flipped a coin and let go a Groves. STUPID ME! Oh, how I miss that bow. Should of bought her something to make up for my addiction.
Same for me,I don't let them go,so I have some 70 of them.
70 ! Felix, I am going to have to start shooting left handed so when I come visit I can shoot some of them.
Great Plains Palo Duro B-model takedown, 55#-62". Bought it off the classifieds here for about 350 and sold it for about the same. Smoothest drawing bow I ever shot. I'll never find another one at that price again.
65@28 62" lefty Asbell era bighorn recurve..nothing real special, black glass etc.. my first custom recurve , wish I could find it.
Heck Yes!! 68" 58@ 28" Howard Hill King of the North, kick my self in the butt often for that one!
Ya don't want to talk about it !
Frank I had 2. :knothead: and my MOHAWK actually had 2 ' HAWKS let them both go. :banghead: I just picked up another one from my Bud GRAYBEARD. :goldtooth:
Had a choice once, (1st)wife or Bow so the Pronghorn 62" 60 at 28"cocobolo riser red elm limbs went. Made the WRONG choice than! but now i'm getting her sister anyday.. no the bow! All the same just a little weaker. :bigsmyl:
Years ago I offered the choice of a t/d recurve a 1 pc recurve and a longbow as a raffle prize. This was a part of the fund raising for a state bow hunting org.
I was all but sure that the t/d would be choosen. However it was the 1 pc recurve that was choosen
There was something about that bow it just seemed to hit what I shot at. I have built that same bow on the same form several times. But I have never been able to recapture the magic.
Oh well it was for a great cause. I would do it again in a heartbeat.
This one, which is a 58" GN Ghost drawing 49@28.

And I've kicked you for not selling it to me! Best howard hill I've ever seen, bar none, both in looks and shooting qualities.
